Carnaross 1-20 St Ultan's 2-17

Carnaross began their Division 9 league campaign by welcoming St Ultan's to Páirc Naomh Chiarán.

Carnaross held a healthy lead at half time after a Charlie Murphy goal and 7 first half points from John L McGee.

Carnaross were getting the better of the midfield battle with Shane Casserly first to every break. Paddy Farnan galloped forward for a wonderful score as the Ross stretched their lead.

However St Ultan's roared back into contention in the final quarter with 2 well worked goals. The half forward line of Paddy Nugent, Paddy Morris and Oisín Farrelly contributed 6 points between them in an open encounter.

The final act of the evening saw John L McGee split the posts to share the spoils in an evenly contested affair.
