Celebration time for Dunderry U21 hurlers at Grangegodden

Dunderry 2-10 Rathmoylan 0-10

The Meath Under 21 B Hurling Championship final was played during the later stages of storm Darragh in excellent pitch conditions provided by Grangegodden. This game lived up to expectations.

Rathmoylan opened the scoring through the ever reliable Cathal Regan, but Dunderry hit back straight away through Evan Nolan. Rathmoylan had the better of the elements in the first half but to their credit Dunderry kept themselves in the game through a well worked goal finished off by Evan Nolan to the top corner after great work by William Treacy. Rathmoylan hit back with a couple of points from Ragan and Joe Christy to leave the score at half time Dunderry 1-05 Rathmoylan 0-07.

The second half started in the same blustery conditions and Rathmoylan started the brighter with two Joe Christy points from play and it looked like the green army were going to kick on but Dunderry had other ideas and a goal from a free by Nolan settled Dunderry back into the game. Two Mark Leavy points put Dunderry back in control anbd the goals Rathmoylan needed never arrived thanks to the brilliance of Jamie Duffy, Daragh Fay, Fionn McHale in defence.

Rian Fay rounded of the scoring with a point and it ended in favour of Dunderry on a score line of 2-10 to 0-10
