O'Mahonys 4-10 Na Fianna 3-03

The home side got off to a good start with a quick goal after a scramble on the ground in front of goal and they  quickly followed with a second giving them a 2 goal to nil lead after just over 5 minutes  

 3 unanswered points in a row from Lizzie Brennan (2 from frees and one from play) got Navan O’Mahony’s on the scoreboard. Na Fianna responded with a point, their last score of the half. The visitors dominated the last ten minutes of the first half, a converted 45 from Brennan  was followed by 3 scores from play, a goal from Cara Ratty, a point from  Caoimhe McKenna and a point from Brennan closed out the half leaving the score 1-6 to 2-1.

Na Fianna having made a few changes opened the second half as they did the first with a quick goal and  followed this a point putting them 2 points ahead. 

Navan O’Mahony’s responded from play with a brace in quick succession from Aoibhin McKenny bringing it back to a draw game. A purple patch saw Brennan add another point and a goal and when given the opportunity from a close range free she blasted to the net to stretch the lead to 7 points.

Na Fianna scored another from play before. Zoe Shakespeare who brought fresh legs into the squad in the last quarter was on hand to rattle the net from a rebound widening the gap in the latter stages.

A great point from play from Ratty saw out the game with a final score line of O'Mahonys 4-10 Na Fianna 3-03

Well done to Kitty O Rourke who came into team in the last quarter for her first outing in adult camogie.
