Kildalkey’s second team qualified for the Division 3 HL final on Saturday evening following this 1-19 to 1-10 win at home against Donaghmore/Ashbourne .
Kildalkey led at halftime by 0-9 to 0-6 with points from Mattie Cully with 3 frees Cian Colhoun kelvin Lynch Andy Fagan and 3 from the experienced Podger Geoeghan as the defence was proving hard to breakdown
The second half was of a similar pattern as Cully with 3 more frees Niall McNally Matt and Alex Rickard all hit points
Two more experienced men Enda Fitzgerald and Martin Doran playing at fullback and centre back found themselves up the field as both hit long range points then Podger Geoghegan hit the net for a goal after having 3 or 4 near misses Brian Coneely and Cully from play closed the scoring for the blues as Donaghmore Ashbourne got in for late a goal after only hitting 4 second half frees mostly because the kildalkey backs weren’t giving an inch only conceding 1-4 from play over the hour and they had 11 different scorers on the night
