Camogie: Royals too strong for Laois in Trim

Meath opened their Leinster Intermediate Championship campaign with a comfortable win over Laois in perfect conditions at Lomans Park Trim.

There was only a point separating these two sides when they met in the league in February

Dual star Aoife Minogue scored three goals. The Dunderry player will line out for the senior footballers in tomorrow’s Leinster SFC final against Dublin at Portlaoise..

Meath led at the break 4-5 to 1-3, Minogue finding the back of the Laois net twice while Ciara Foley and Emma O’Connell also raised green flags.

Abbey Donnelly also got in on the goal scoring act in the second half as the home side outscored the visitors 2-14 to 1-0.

Meath scorers: Aoife Minogue 3-0, Ciara Foley 1-4, Grace Coleman 0-6, Abby Donnelly 1-3, Emma O’Connell 1-1, Olivia O’Halloran 0-3, Amy Gaffney and Tracy King 0-1 each.
