FL Div 2B: Ultans leave Carnaross with both points

St Ultans came away from Carnaross with the points on Tuesday night.

Carnaross started much the brighter and led after ten minutes by five points to one, the Ultans point was from Tommy Buchanan after an impressive run.  Ultans steadied the ship with further points from Ruairi Buchanan(2) and Tommy Buchanan to close the gap to one. Keith Hennessy dived low to deny  Carnaross a goal. Two points by Carnaross either side Ruairi Buchanan free left two between the sides. Tommy Buchanan floated a ball into the square and Gearoid Rennicks reached highest to flick the ball to the net to give then men in Black and Green the lead for the first time. Carnaross closed the half well and regained the lead just before half time.

An Emmet Costello point drew the sides level early in the second half but Carnaross regained control of the match with a well taken goal. Ultans reacted well to the concession of the goal with a Gearoid Rennicks mark and a Buchanan free closing the gap. The sides exchanged scores but two further Carnaross points left them leading by three with ten minutes left to play. Ultans defence stood strong for the last ten minutes and five unanswered points ensured victory. The points came from substitute Oisin Durcan, Ruairi Buchanan (2), Adam Rogers and Kyle Cosgrove.
