Louth have 'a great chance' - McConville

Oisín McConville thinks Louth will give Dublin a better game than many people expect in Sunday’s Leinster SFC final.

Dublin are 1/25 to maintain their vice-like grip on the Delaney Cup, despite almost coming unstuck against Kildare in the semi-final, and McConville reckons Louth could also cause them plenty of problems.

"The reason why I think Louth have a great chance is I still think Dublin have a bit of an issue breaking down that mass defence," the Wicklow manager told the BBC's The GAA Social podcast.

"I think Louth are better organised than Kildare – not necessarily better footballers but better organised. They make the most of the individuals that they have.

"I think that makes it very difficult for Dublin. If they’re more efficient than they have been on the counterattack, it gives them a chance. I still think Dublin will win it, but it gives them more of a chance. I think they'll stay in the game longer than we saw either Sligo [against Galway] or Clare [against Kerry].

"Ideally, for Louth, Dublin would have blown Kildare away. Now they've seen that performance, there's a good chance that there will be a lot of soul-searching done, and they will be a lot sharper this weekend than they have been.”
