ST PATRICKS 2-14
O RAGHALAIGHS 1-10
St Patricks qualified for the Senior Championship quarter-finals as group winners thanks to this seven-point win over O Raghallaighs on Sunday night in Darver.
As a result, the Drogheda men finish bottom and the Pats will be joined by Geraldines in the knock-out stages.
The Pats opened the scoring through Cathal Grogan and followed up with a goal from Eoin O’Connor on three minutes. Although Ben Rogan pulled a point back for the O Raghallaighs, the Lordship men continued to dominate and points from Jack and Ciaran Murphy along with a second O’Connor goal had them 2-3 to 0-1 ahead after ten minutes.
The Drogheda men hit back with the help of Barry Flanagan points and a goal from a Rogan penalty to cut the deficit to 2-6 to 1-6 at the break.
The Pats regained the initiative in the third quarter with Darren O’Hanlon and Jack Murphy scoring to help them move seven clear. The O Raghallaighs responded with points from Flanagan and James Morgan but the Pats always looked comfortable and scores from Grogan in the final quarter sealed a deserved win.
