The Longford senior hurlers’ preparations for the 2025 season have been thrown into disarray following the surprise departure of manager Adrian Moran.

As inter-county teams return to collective training from today, Longford have begun the search for a new manager just a few weeks out from their Allianz League Division 4 opener at home to Warwickshire on Saturday, January 25.

Moran, who guided his native Westmeath to a famous Leinster U21HC victory over Kilkenny in 2016, was expected to remain at the helm for a fourth year after leading Longford to Lory Meagher Cup final appearances against Louth and Fermanagh in 2022 and ’24 respectively, but that won’t be happening now after he stepped down along with the rest of his management team.
