Newcastle West are two wins away from a third Limerick senior football championship title in-a-row.
Jimmy Lee’s men booked their place in the semi-finals on Friday night thanks to a 2-10 to 0-11 win against Kildimo Pallaskenry.
Brian O’Sullivan and Iain Corbett (penalty) netted the goals in each half that helped the holders maintain their 100% start to the competition as they now await their opposition in the semi-finals.
Fr Casey’s booked their place in the knock-out stages with a 1-14 to 1-9 victory over St Kiernan’s, and it means that both Casey’s and Kildimo Pallaskenry are into the final six ahead of meeting each other in their last group game.
Monaleen are also into the business end of the competition after seeing off Ballysteen by 1-17 to 1-11 with a strong finish, while yesterday (Saturday) saw Galtee Gaels and Na Piaraigh playing out a thrilling game which saw the Caherdavin outfit come out on top by 2-10 to 0-13.
