The GAA community has been plunged into mourning after the sudden death of a supporter during yesterday evening’s Munster SHC clash between Limerick and Clare at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
John Walsh (73) was believed to have suffered a heart attack shortly after throw-in while watching from the stadium’s North Stand.
Emergency services and stewards responded to the incident and a garda spokesman confirmed that the death took place shortly after 7pm.
Mr Walsh’s club Sixmilebridge in Co Clare led the tributes to him on social media after news of his sad passing.
