Ballinamore Sean O’Heslin’s and Mohill will square off in the Leitrim senior football championship final for the second time in four years after both sides came through their respective semi-finals yesterday.

Tom Prior proved the hero for Ballinamore as his injury-time point steered them towards a 0-12 to 1-8 victory over last year’s runners up St Mary’s Kiltoghert.

The sides had been all square on 0-4 apiece after the opening half and it was St Mary’s that looked the more likely to claim victory after Brian Keaney rattled the net for them in the 37th minute.

The town side battled back though and the points of Prior, Paul Honeyman, Sean Moran and Wayne McKeon would get them back level with four minutes left before Prior sailed over the winner.

The earlier game in Ballinamore saw Domhnaill Flynn’s late point proving the difference for Mohill against Fenagh St Caillins (0-12 to 1-8).

Defending champions Mohill dominated large parts of the first-half, running up a 0-6 to 0-0 lead after 16 minutes before taking in a 0-8 to 0-4 advantage at the break.

Fenagh made the perfect start to the second-half that saw Donal Wrynn hammering in a goal for them and they’d move in front with a couple of Riordan O’Rourke frees.

After Jordan Reynolds levelled for the holders, O’Rourke put his side back in the lead ahead of Keith Keegan squaring it up with five minutes left and Flynn grabbing the winner three minutes into injury-time.
