Clough–Ballacolla captured their fourth Laois senior hurling championship crown in five years after recording a 2-22 to 0-22 win over Rathdowney-Errill at Laois Hire O’Moore Park this afternoon.
After trailing by 0-15 to 1-8 at the halfway stage, the 2022 champions dominated the second-half with their ace attacker Stephen ‘Picky’ Maher leading the way for them during the second period with 1-10.
The Laois forward’s frees brought his side within a point just six minutes into the restart in Portlaoise and he’d have the sliotar in Rathdowney-Errill’s net a minute later.
From there, Clough–Ballacolla didn’t look back as the points of Maher, Willie Dunphy, Aidan Corby and Robbie Phelan led them to their club’s 12th SHC triumph.
