Laois senior hurling coaches Dan Shanahan and Eamon Jackman are serving four-week suspensions after being reported for verbal abuse of a referee.

The bans were imposed by the Central Hearings Committee after the incident occurred during Laois' drawn Joe McDonagh Cup clash with neighbours Carlow on April 22. Both coaches were absent from the sideline for the O'Moore County's Round 4 victory over Kildare last Saturday. Laois must beat Kerry and hope that Offaly don't lose to Carlow this Saturday if they're to reach the final of the second-tier championship.

According to a GAA statement, the pair were both handed a four weeks’ suspension together with a one match suspension in the same code and at the same level, applicable to the next game in the combination of National League/Inter-County Senior Championship, even if that game occurs in the following year.
