Laois SFC: Emo end Portlaoise's winning run

Portlaoise’s reign as Laois senior football champions came to an end in yesterday’s quarter-final clash with Emo.
Jack Owens and Paul Lawlor contributed 0-4 apiece as Emo enjoyed an 0-11 to 1-6 success over a Portlaoise team that was bidding for a fourth SFC title in-a-row and 13th in 14 years.
Emo’s reward is a place in the last four alongside Portarlington, Graiguecullen and Clonaslee-St Manman’s.
