Dublin star Hannah Tyrrell was in disbelief in the moments after this afternoon’s All-Ireland ladies senior football championship final.

The capital women scored a 0-18 to 1-10 victory over Kerry at Croke Park to record their sixth ever Brendan Martin Cup success.

Their standout performer on the day was sharpshooter Tyrrell, who registered her entire 0-8 tally in the first-half as Mick Bohan’s side went on to win by five.

“I can hardly believe it, to be honest,” she told TG4 Sport afterwards. “We came back firing after 2021 and then going out early last year, we had that hurt. Kerry put it up to us, but we were a different beast today. We got over the line from 1-15, 1-20. I can't believe it, can't believe we won!

“Half-time was just don't sit on our heels, keep attacking, keep going after them - we knew they had to come out, and they had a purple patch. But our defence stood up, and we just kept ticking over scores, used a bit of game management.

“I've never been here before, so it's a bloody good feeling!”
