Tyrone and Kerry will face each other in the All-Ireland U20 football championship final for the second time in three years after both sides came through their respective semi-finals last night.

The Red Hands made their goals count in a 2-12 to 0-13 victory over Kildare at Kingspan Breffni to leave themselves a win away from back-to-back Clarke Cup triumphs.

The Ulster champions were 0-5 to 0-3 ahead when Shea McDermott struck their first goal on 28 minutes to help usher them towards a five-point lead at the half.

Kildare sent over the first five scores of the second-half, including three points from Jimmy Lynch (two frees) to level this semi-final, but a Conor O’Neill two-pointer would put the holders back on track and a Darragh Donaghy goal with 10 minutes to go put the seal on their final return.

In Thurles, Kerry recorded a 3-17 to 0-17 win against Roscommon after extra time to progress to the All-Ireland decider.

The scores of Paddy Lane and Tomás Kennedy helped the Kingdom hold an 0-8 to 0-2 lead at the half, but the Rossies fought back after the change of ends with the scores of John McGuinness and frees from Charlie Carroll bringing them back within one before Ruairi Kilcline sent the semi-final to extra time.

Lane and Daniel Kirby moved Kerry towards a three-point lead by the break and the second of the added periods would see the Munster champions finding their goal scoring touch as Kennedy, Lane and Kirby all found the Rossies’ net to secure their side’s final berth on May 30th.
