Bryan Murphy has thrown his hat into the ring to become the next Kildare GAA chairman.
With Mick Gorman stepping down at December’s county convention under the GAA’s five-year rule, Murphy has declared his intention to run for the top job. The Cork native earned his place in the annals of Kildare GAA when he scored the winning goal in the Lilywhites’ 1998 Leinster SFC final victory over Meath, their first in 42 years.
The Clane clubman, who works in business development for Dawn Farm Foods, is a former Kildare minor and U21 manager who also served as a senior selector under Jack O’Connor a few seasons ago.
