A small piece of history was made in the Kildare JHC on Tuesday evening when Round Towers won their first-ever adult championship game.

A 3-13 to 1-6 victory over Ros Glas represented a major breakthrough for the Kildare town club which had been football only up until 2016. But with club members such as Christy Guiney and Paul Condon working hard behind-the-scenes, Round Towers have gone from strength to strength since then, fielding teams in hurling and camogie at underage level and at adult level for the first time in 2023.

No doubt this week's win will be the first of many for the fledgling hurling club.
