Kildare goalkeeper Cormac Barker had to wear a bib in last Saturday's All-Ireland U20FC final as his black jersey clashed with the colours worn by opponents Sligo.
On the same weekend as TV viewers complained of a jersey clash in the Ulster SFC final between Derry and Armagh, RTÉ sports presenter Des Cahill remarked on social media how there was "a real vibe of a junior league match & not enough jerseys!" off the impromptu change of attire, while others noted how the orange bib matched the 'keeper's boots!
Orange bib or black jersey, it didn't matter to Kilcullen clubman Barker who kept a clean sheet and also scored a point from a free as the Lilywhites were crowned All-Ireland U20 football champions for the second time in five years following a 1-17 to 0-12 victory.
TweetIt’s s bit mad that the #Kildare goalkeeper has to wear a bib in the All-Ireland Under 20 Final, because his black jersey clashes with #Sligo. It might be a lucky jersey for him, In fairness…but there’s a real vibe of a junior league match & not enough jerseys! This is a Final! pic.twitter.com/PcywfF5gRJ
