Dr Crokes are Kerry senior football champions for the first time in six years after a 3-8 to 0-11 victory over Dingle in Tralee this afternoon.
After having fallen 0-5 to 0-1 behind 17 minutes in (and trailed 0-6 to 0-4 at half-time), the Killarney men came to life when David Shaw hammered in their first goal in the 41st minute to draw them level.
Three minutes later and Kieran O’Leary would have the ball in the back of Dingle’s net to make it 2-4 to 0-8, and they’d be five to the good after their third goal in seven minutes.
This time it was Evan Looney that provided the finish, leaving Crokes’ opponents with a mountain to try and scale in the closing dozen minutes and the points of Paul Geaney, Conor Geaney and Dylan Geaney would leave them six short in the end.
