Replying To countyman2022: "3 Northie teams and Cavan and Monaghan then." Three Northern with a capital N.
Five northern with a small n.
Or you could even say seven northern with a small n, since we have to head north to get to any of them. Even Dublin.
:)

Is that the first time the football champions have been eliminated by the hurling champions in a football match in wexford?

Replying To Waltermitty2: "Is that the first time the football champions have been eliminated by the hurling champions in a football match in wexford?" Don't know off the top of my head, only times it could have happened in recent memory would've been:
2022 - Starlights vs Shels (Castletown beat Shels that year, right?) 2021 - Shels vs Rapps (Definitely didn't happen, Rapps won Senior hurling) 2020 - Martin's vs Castletown (Didn't happen although think Castletown only beat them by a point or two in the QF or SF, Castletown lost the final to Starlights) 2018 - Martin's vs Starlights 2015 - Shels vs Anne's 2009 - Martin's vs Kilanerin

Replying To Waltermitty2: "Is that the first time the football champions have been eliminated by the hurling champions in a football match in wexford?" That's a great question. Don't know if anyone will really be able to answer for sure, when you consider how sketchy results get the further you go back.
But here's a real quirk. A long-deceased uncle of mine once told me that he played on a team that did it the other way around - i.e. they were reigning senior football champions when they beat the reigning senior hurling champions the following year.
It was Enniscorthy St. Aidans, who won Senior Football in 1950 and 1951. And then in the hurling in 1952, they beat Cloughbawn (who'd won Senior Hurling in '51) while on their way to winning Senior Hurling that year themselves.
He reckoned that was unique, and I've still no reason to doubt him. Still the opposite way round to what you're actually asking, though!

Replying To JT22: "I seen a lot of games over the weekend.
In senior, I thought the Martins were excellent in the second half. The goal chance for Castletown right before HT was a big miss but other than this they were dominant. They really backed up the Gusserane performance and will be very hard bet. I thought the Shels were pretty poor, Kilanerin gave Eoghan Nolan way too much space in the first half and he kicked a couple of brilliant 2 pointers. Bunclody will be kicking themselves to not win in normal time, they had an excellent chance just as time was up.
Intermediate, its certainly not a final anyone would of predicted at the start of the year and is one I am looking forward to. Cloughbawn have been getting a lot of goals all year and have some excellent forwards. What a disappointing year for both Starlights and St Annes in both codes, they would of both expected to get to the final in football.
A super win for clongeen, who by all account's dominated Ballyhogue. After getting to the final last year and had 3 points after 2 games, what went wrong for Ballyhogue? A double relegation for them, a disaster of a year." Will Martins fly Rory O'Connor back for the hurling and football?
They were on the verge of doing what Loughmore Castleliney have done in Tipperary, winning both hurling & football championships in one year and whilst I think they will win the football final I don't think they will beat Rathnure without Rory.

Replying To Waltermitty2: "Is that the first time the football champions have been eliminated by the hurling champions in a football match in wexford?" Here is the thing, you have the county champions of hurling who could lose this weekend in a very close game who are already in a county football final, in the other half of the hurling you have a team that could have been in a county football final playing to get into a county hurling final You have people who don't like one code or the other, and some dead set against the other and who will take no pride in the fact that we are a proud keepers of both codes of the game, however that does not seem to be born out by the vast majority of players in Wexford.

Really looking forward to the football final this weekend, with Castletown not involved I'm hoping for a good open game. Kilanerin will set up alot like Castletown and will be hard to break down but to be fair, the Martins play a good attacking/exciting style of football so should set up a good game.
Intermediate between Horeswood and Cloughbawn, Cloughbawn really are in bonus territory and will have one eye on the hurling. Horeswood on the other hand have really good forwards who can hurt teams. I think they just have the better players, expect them to overcome a determined Cloughbawn side.
St. Marys Rosslare v Oylegate-Glenbrien I think this one will be hard to predict, Oylegate never Intermediate football before as far as I am aware (maybe someone might correct me there), Oylegate shaded their quarter final by 1 and semi by 2 while Rosslare looked more confortable in their knockout games. Still though, I can forsee a bit of a shock, I actually fancy Oylegate to beat Rosslare, I will go for them to win by 3.
Junior final
Davidstown in massive bonus territory, second year on the trot in a football final and hurling final, what an achievement. Looking at the group results and matches until now, Blackwater havent lost a game this year yet and have been impressive putting up big scores while Davidstown will be focusing on the hurling for a chance to go senior. Blackwater lost last years final so I expect them to go one further and win this by 4.
St. Josephs v Ferns The Joeys lost last years final to an excellent Davidstown team so no shame in that. Ferns came third in their group while Joeys defeated them when they played in the group stage. Think Joeys will have learned from last year and will win this, by 6.
Junior B Final Martins v St. James dont know much about either team, Martins probably have a lot of experience albeit so do St. James. Going to say Martins, only just.

Can't agree with you on kilanerin being hard to break down. Their weakness this year has been in defence, they look very porous at times and the Martin's showed in their last 2 games how effective they can be with their direct running.
