Its completely deserved. Niall Walsh the only genuine case as far as I know. Owen Gallagher lived in the city when he transferred. Killian Gallagher lived in Oranmore. Heard from a reliable source Johnny Moloney didnt live near Moycullen either. Nevin O'Donnell was an organised transfer. They will probably win Frank Fox this year but surely wont mean much to them. I think Annaghdown will give them a scare this weekend. A huge win against MM could have Moycullen complacent. MM were foolish against a breeze too, I think Annaghdown will make it slow and keep themselves in the game and have the shooters to do damage with a breeze. I think Annaghdowns workrate and high pressing could rattle Nevin too. Kickouts are a weakness. Hoping for an upset. GalwaysFinest (Galway) - Posts: 235 - 05/10/2026 12:45:46 2696255 Link 4 |

That post is clearly tongue in cheek. Trying to get a response similar to what you replied with. There are plenty in the county who wouldn't be too happy with it, and some in their own locality as well. They're a strong underage, competing in A at pretty much every grade and with good numbers. Ross Coen will definitely be in Olan Kelly I don't know. Kilcommins is a must, Moycullen quieten himself and Comer and that will be it for Annaghdown. I know Jack Kirrane was in the set up before like Kilcommins but was he given enough or any chances. He had a good year. Glenn Kelly though he does not have the speed. Sweeney will be back. Anyone else come to mind? Probably needs to move a few to pasture as they were getting too comfortable.

Corofin to reach the final I'd agree with the rest of your predictions

He looks decent. I think continuous injuries caused the problems for him in the rugby

I think Spideal. Watched a couple games. Good forwards and backs. O Lee and o congaile make a big impact. Watched corner back o Flaherta man mark strong forwards out of the game. Liam Kelly huge leading the backs. I think they'll do it this year

Maigh Cuilinn have had pretty poor this year at underage football. Their U19's finished in the bottom 2 in the West championship. Their minors finished last. Their U15's played in U15 group 2 but only came 4th, when you consider there was also another U15 group, they probably ranked about 8 overall. They then played Feile B, they won this, the comment they are strong under age is far of the mark. The best underage teams in 2026 are U13, Salthill-Knocknacarra champions, they beat Corofin in the final. U15, Tuam Stars champions, they beat Corofin in the final. Feile A Champions are Claregalway, the beat Oranmore. U17, Corofin North Champions and Micheal Breathnach the West Champions, County final not played yet. U19, Corofin are the North Champions and Oranmore the West Champions, county final not played yet. It is a stretch to say Maigh Cuilinn are strong at A, the results this year don't reflect that claim. GDL (Galway) - Posts: 983 - 06/10/2026 14:23:28 2696411 Link 0 |

The post is in relation to the make-up of their senior team and how the high number of outsiders can impact opportunities for players coming through over the past number of years. What that has to do with how good their U13s or U15s were this year, I'm not sure. They're hardly competing for spots on the senior team this year or over the past few years. Nowhere, did I say they're strong at A. I said they compete in A at most age groups, which they do and they have plenty numbers. In saying that, they did have some strong underage teams at minor and U19 in recent years, who would be the cohort trying to break into senior at the moment. Any team playing in A in most age groups and with the numbers Maigh Cuilinn has, should have no difficulty bringing through good players and they've done a great job of that, which is evidence of the quality they have locally. All the more reason why the number of imports doesn't sit well with many. There are much smaller clubs, who compete in lower grades in many age groups, who don't go down this road, even though they're much tighter on numbers and have fewer quality players. Salthill to beat Corofin, probably, and whoever wins will win the final against Moycullen imo. Seniorleague (Galway) - Posts: 364 - 06/10/2026 18:49:57 2696445 Link 1 |

You brought their underage into the thread and wrote, "They're a strong underage, competing in A at pretty much every grade and with good numbers." Actually they aren't, they have been mediocre. The underage results and tables are true reflection of this. They are bringing in outsiders and not trusting their own 19 and 20 year olds.

I didn't think it'd need further explanation, but just to reiterate. The lads from underage a few years ago, are obviously the players at the age to play senior football this year and over the past 3 or 4 years. Not the lads playing underage this year, whether that's U13, U15 or minor. How they performed at underage this year is completely irrelevant to the players available for adult senior football. Maigh Cuilinn compete in the A division of most age groups and have done for a number of years. They have plenty players with potential coming through as a result. Your answer actually showed that they were in A in most age groups this year in any case, even though it has little bearing on their senior team at the moment. There are only a handful of clubs who are generally in A in most age groups most years. Oranmore, Claregalway, Salthill, Corofin would be those most consistently in A. Possibly Tuam. Maigh Cuilinn would likely be next after that. They are a strong underage club. There are very few other clubs who compete in A at most age groups, more than they do. That's the point. A club like that doesn't need to rely on imports. They're in a much better position numbers and quality wise than the vast majority of clubs in the county. You can get 3/1 or 10/3 odds on Corofin, Salthill if you truly think either will beat Moycullen in the final.

Moycullen for me are similar to Man City. If they win, no one really cares because the wins are tainted because of all the transfer. TanCanRan (Galway) - Posts: 346 - 07/10/2026 09:45:04 2696483 Link 1 |

This is very true, or maybe just people from Moycullen will be the only ones who don't care as they have another title under there belt,

If I'm not mistaken Moycullen have to beat Annaghdown yet so saying they'll beat either Saltill or Corofin in the final might ne a little bit premature putting the cart before the horse comes to mind
