I think every dual player is happy with the amount of games, but I doubt many are happy playing every weekend. Any injury can be detrimental. I'd imagine most would favour a weekend off around round 3 to reset

It cant really. There were former hurling clubs in Kilbeggan,Streamstown Horseleap,Rosemount,Moate and Drumraney at different stages. Some of them managed to get as far as a senior final but all of above areas now feed into two hurling clubs namely CTG for the first five areas and Fr Daltons for Drumraney. At present, a large percentage of CTG's underage comes from Streamstown,Rosemount, Kilbeggan axis and if a Hurling club were to develop there, then it strips the underage set up of CTG apart. BTW, this is not anti CTG but just the reality of same.

Sounds like it lol yes some their squad are but lpts are their own castletown dysart area too

According to the local press this week they all stepped down. How can they be reinstated if they decided to resign en masse??

CTG are fielding two teams at the likes of u12 with a lot of players coming from Kilbeggan Streamstown and Rosemount as well so I agree with what your saying however it also indicates strong interest in hurling across those areas as well which could be explored.

No it doesn't mean that as there are no adults involved with those teams from Streamstown or Rosemount, Damien McLoughlin from Kilbeggan is involved with their seniors as a stats man. Having hurlers like Alan Conlon, Mikey Lynam from St. Joseph's and David O' Reilly and Plunkett Maxwell from Rosemount with Castletown is only proof of Castletown casting their net wider which is allowed. The existing rural hurling clubs and football ones are doing their best to keep going themselves let alone a new club starting up. I asked the question here weeks ago who would train a hurling club in Moate, where would they play, you'd need 25-30 coaches minimum, who are these people, who would fundraise €100,000 per annum? Anyone involved with a club currently would not be suggesting such pie in the sky ideas.

It would be interesting if a hurling club formed covering Rosemount St Joseph's and Kilbeggan. You'd probably have 30 plus hurlers straight away who have played decent standard adult hurling with CTG.
