I taught he was very unlucky he was very good in cavan game also he didnt do much wrong all year, similar to mcphilips from latton was very good in league under Vinny and in omagh was taken off at half time that day, it was a flip of a coin weather to take off o toole or mcphilips because O toole wasn't great but scoring that goal changed everything for o toole. I definitely taught Shane Hantratty would get his shot this year. As for Cameron dowd abit like Gavin mcphilips last year I taught he deserved more game time in the championship. Our management teams can be funny at times Andrew Woods could not get any game time under Vinney Corey ,he be lucky to get 5 or 6 mins, now the last 2 seasons started every game ,& was very good in most games. Barry Mcbennett got loads of good game time under Vinney but none with GB. AlanD (Monaghan) - Posts: 35 - 27/07/2026 20:13:52 2687631 Link 0 |

With 3 getting promotion and 1 relagation in each division, how do they decide the 3rd team to go up? And is it a playoff between league relegation looser and championship relegation loser to go down? farneygael (Monaghan) - Posts: 351 - 27/07/2026 20:19:19 2687632 Link 0 |

Progressive? Andy Moran taught them that. Since he left, regression.

I genuinely don't think Monaghan are not that far off. sleater (Monaghan) - Posts: 209 - 28/07/2026 10:53:07 2687717 Link 0 |

We had the least amount of 2points scored in division 1 this year mate, your point is flawed.

In Monaghan we have the injuries line on speed dial. Serial losers with this attitude. The Louth meltdown an injury issue?

Hmmmm yes moran referenced monaghan alot. He learned alot about a style play from monaghan but ultimately he had a greater playing pool and tools to work with in Mayo. I said after the louth game when mayo beat them, we lack the mayo type of forward that they have. Serious work rate and your guaranteed 3 or 4 points each off them. But I have no doubt his presence was massive in Monaghan, he's a winner and would have set standards. There is lots of improvements needed for players and managment for 27 if they have aspirations of winning sam. 222 (UK) - Posts: 956 - 28/07/2026 12:46:08 2687764 Link 0 |

Would have to imagine inniskeen have the best chance after bringing them to extra time last year. Not saying they have a chance but maghercloone play with no systems and are unpredictable they just go all out. Never know what could happen look at mayo

I agree I think clontibret could also but there, there abouts for the later end of the championship but their injuries this year could be too much

Clontibret will be doing well to avoid relegation without Hughes Doyle and McCooey

Nope. They won it last year with Conor McCarthy or Ryan O'Toole. We have the most boring senior championship in the country, which is what happens when about 17 villages form one club.

Exactly, so Andy Moran was obviously the catalyst for the emphasis on 2pointers, hence he didn't learn or pick that up with Monaghan, he brought that focus with him too Monaghan and too Mayo. Crediting GB or the current management team is way off the mark.

Yes it will be a playoff between league and championship loser unless it's the same team. The 3 teams to be promoted are decided by the following, winner of championship and league will be promoted. If the winners of league are runners up in championship the league runner up will also be promoted. If same wins league and championship both runners up will be promoted. If the finals of league and championship are contested by same 2 teams both are promoted and the losing championship semifinaliest will have a playoff to decide the 3rd team to go up.
