Replying To Fionn:  "Interesting interview by Davy, and a good mention for Deano.

After the Louth loss only a few weeks ago, we had lost 7 out of 11 games.
Won only 1 from 6 games in Croker, and that was against a depleted Monaghan team.
As the article says - It looked bleak..

But the return from suspension of Ger has really helped turn things around, both in training and match day…

It obviously had an impact but it has coincided with having some of the main men back fit at the right time.

Speaking of which I note that Kerry's odds shortened significantly yesterday. Hopefully that is not an indication that one of the main injury concerns has not been resolved.

Yep they are now nearly 1/2 to win Sam and 4/11 to beat the Dubs.
Their squad is now looking back to full strength.

Dublin are 11/4 for the game this weekend.
We are clearly not expected to win by the bookies.

Hopefully Sean and Murch can make the match day squad for us, Barney.

I think for us to win we will need a curve ball or two by way of a timely black/red card for them at a crucial stage in the game. I am just not sure we will live with their firepower and keep the scoreboard ticking over ourselves but I'd of course be happily proven wrong! I think they can be got at as Tyrone showed and I do trust Brennan to have a plan in place to keep things close. If we can be in touch going into the last 10 mins then it'll be all to play for.

I keep thinking back to the '23 final and how we didn't paly well for a large spell but still managed to squeeze out the win. Part of that was down to Clifford having an off day by his standards and being very well marshalled by Mick Fitz. I don't McMahon is anywhere near the quality of Mick Fitz and I'd worry about him if he was assigned to tag Clifford.

Really looking forward to it, lost of variables and hopeful we can cause an upset.

McMahon fit would be boost. Can't see the Murch unfortunately. Big loss.

Davy might be assigned to him or even a curve ball like Theo.
But in fairness, neither of the 3 would be expected to come out on top v DC.

The key is to try to stop the supply.

Our kick outs will be crucial.
I just hope EC has a good day…

Let's see what plan Ger has for this game…!

Clifford well able to win his own ball and couldn't see Davy beating him on that score or for pace, McMahon be more in your face and physical but supply as you say is crucial.

Jack O'C mentions Dublin closing Galway down in the back and winning midfield so that's where it will be won and lost. Kerry having runners from deep and winning bulk of their own kickouts would make it near impossible task.

Still, these games tend not to go to script. Anything might happen, and probably will.

I know you are a Hurling man, Barney.
But did you get sorted for a ticket for this game ?

We need a strong steady start and see how it goes from there.

Thankfully it is a semi final, so no Sam will be handed out after it…. ;o)

Weather forecast is for a hot sunny humid day with little or no wind, so fitness levels and subs will be very important.

Looking forward to seeing the Dubs squad named…

Young Clifford is top drawer but the have others too.The Geaney brothers very dangerous too.The thing about young Clifford is even when he quiet he sets up some many scores. The younger Geaney brother is a top forward too.Out backs will have to be on top of their game.POCB has to turn up and if hecdoes we have the forwards to score in Con,,Paddy and co

I have my trusty Parnell Park pass. Hope you are sorted.

Been at 4 of last 5 so witness to the Resurrection! Didn't think they would still be there.

Once they give it their best shot we can ask no more.

Ger has named the Dubs squad for the All Ireland Football Semi Final on Sunday.

Our underdogs will line out as follows:-
Comerford
MacMahon Kennedy Byrne
Gannon Clancy McMorrow
POCB Howard
Basquel Con Scully
Small Kilkenny Costello

Subs-
O'Sullivan, Lahiff, Smith, E.O'Callaghan, Murphy, Guiden, Bannon, McGarry, Gavin, Bugler, Deering.

Standby-
Murchan, Breathnach, Lundy, McEneaney.

Great to see Murch and Luke back in contention.
As good as we could have hoped for.
Roll on Sunday.

Gave up my season ticket this year due to a change of career, affordability, having kids etc and havent missed the matches or regretted the decision until this week. Im.veey jealous of everyone going today. These are the days I used to live for. Dublin v Kerry. The greatest of great sporting encounters. Good luck to Dublin today.

It would be, unquestionably, Dublins biggest win v Kerry since the 2011 final if we manage to get it over the line because realistically at this moment in time Kerry are miles ahead but you just never know. Lets hope its not a snore fest like yesterdays game

Apologies Brayballer

I seriously over estimated how good Kerry actually are.
And seriously under estimated the level of improvement in our team since the Leinster Final of 8 weeks ago.

I honestly didn't think we could maintain it, but today our lads were exceptional and excellently coached by Ger and his team.

Proud - of all our players and their efforts today.
Gutted - with the result.
Angry - with the dodgy decisions.
Hopeful - for next year.

Key for Ger has to be, to keep our remaining stalwarts on board for next year.

The new lads will have learned so much and will have gained so much confidence from how they have turned the season around. I tip my hat to them.

A word too for the returning fans today.
What a turnout and what an atmosphere on the Hill.

So proud of the Dubs today.
Gutted we didn't win it.
Absolutely fuming with those 3 decisions today.
Shocking.

After 47mins it was Dublin 9 wides to Kerry's 1.
We ended up with a dozen wides and more than half of them were bad wides and should have been scores.
We really did leave it behind us today.
We hit the woodwork 4 times and should have scored 3 goals. Well we scored 1 but it wasn't given…!!!

POCB going off injured after only 55mins didn't help as we had gained a bit of midfield dominance by that stage.

I felt going in at half time all square, that we had a really good chance. Q3 we were going really well.
And had we taken that goal chance we would have been 6pts up but they go and get a square ball goal allowed to level the game. A complete game changer at that stage.

The penalty - what penalty…!!!

And as for the goal that wasn't given - umpires right beside it… I give up.

Hopefully Kerry don't get the same type of calls in the Final. But, I won't hold my breath.

Howard was excellent today.
Cossie and Collie also.

I felt DC was well marshalled, only a penalty rebound, a 2 pointer and only 3 other scores. Davy did very well.

Plenty of hope for us for next year now, under Ger.
The get this squad and playing like this only 8 weeks after that Leinster campaign, is some turnaround.

I loved the way the Dublin players stayed on the pitch long after the Kerry players had left, just to acknowledge the fans and I guess to think about how close they got today to pulling off a shock and getting to an All Ireland Final.
Hell of an effort tbh.
But definitely building blocks for next season and beyond.

#Gutted

It has been some turnaround since the start of the season. As Ger referred to in this interview - hopefully he can work his magic and persuade the old timers to stay on for next season, and they don't make any quick rash decisions on retirement.

Their efforts were massively acknowledged and appreciated from the Hill and within the stadium, after the game ended. Our players stayed on the pitch long after the final whistle to take that in.

CK has just announced his Inter County retirement.

What a player, what a warrior, what a legend of Dublin GAA.

Thank you Ciaran.

Sad news to hear, Kilkenny has been a great servant to Dublin and while he has caused my county plenty of pain over the years, it's clear he was a great talent and some player. Wish him well.
