It's probably the same as Laois in 2003-2007 they never got to a semi final though, probably underachieved. Only 1 Leinster they should have won 2004 2005 or 2007 as well or at least 2 more They died away quick enough after that around 2008. All Ireland minor winning team 2007 gave them very little of I remember? dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 965 - 02/07/2026 21:11:54 2683780 Link 1 |

Yeah I'd always support Leitrim. A great county who is football mad.

Enjoy the week and the match this weekend, great sets of fans and whoever comes out on top will have an exciting build up to the final. I think most neutrals would be hoping the all Ireland winners come from this match. ulsterrules (Donegal) - Posts: 326 - 07/07/2026 12:14:20 2684670 Link 2 |

A Meath Man in the middle dont know how popular that will be with the louth folk, best of luck on Saturday I've a feeling Louth will pull through with 1 to 5 points to spare.

I can't speak for all of Meath, but this Meath supporter wishes our neighbours all the best on Saturday. Obviously at this stage nobody would begrudge Mayo winning the big one either but hopefully you boys can do the business. Greenfield (Meath) - Posts: 526 - 08/07/2026 12:23:19 2684811 Link 2 |

Not true. Most Galway people i know ARE rooting for Mayo. And those who arent, should be. At the minute Connacht is the poor relation in football. We win nothing. Over the last few years in minor , u20 , senior, club senior, intermediate. Junior, colleges, varsity, national football leagues, railway cup what have we won? Crossmolina intermediate last year is the only thing that springs to mind. We are a laughing stock and we need a boost. Yes Mayo supporters would be hard listen to if they won, but to me thats an acceptable price to pay to restore pride in the province. I recall some decades ago where Ulster was the poor relation like we are now. But then , and even still now, in Ulster, despite knocking lumps out of each other in Ulster with some savage rivalries, whoever represents Ulster generally gets the support of all Ulster. This sort of pride in the province epitomes the sort of passion that has helped bring Ulster football to the top of the pile. Oh to have some of that in Connacht.

Hopefully not Dublin. Your second once in a lifetime group of players in a row are just getting warmed up and about to embark on another period of dominance. Let one of the other teams have this one first :) Seniorleague (Galway) - Posts: 129 - 08/07/2026 22:25:17 2684883 Link 0 |

From my experience it generally depends on what part of the county you're from. Up in the traditional football heartland, around Tuam and north Galway, there would be an intense rivalry with Mayo and I'd doubt you'd find too many wanting them to do well. Out west in Conamara, the feeling is generally different. There's a general affinity with Mayo, particularly west Mayo which is very similar. A lot of people out west would have been supporting Mayo in their All-Ireland finals. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2940 - 09/07/2026 09:16:28 2684897 Link 0 |
