In all seriousness, I will be absolutely shocked if the Munster men don't win Sam now that Armagh, Donegal and to a lesser extent Galway, are gone.
The Tyrone game was their wake up call imo…!

On Galway, surely it is time to change their coaching setup before their stalwarts retire…!

As I posted previously, it is great that Louth, and to a lesser extent, Mayo get to compete in the All Ireland FOOTBALL Final (for those who have a bee in their bonnet about the word Football and the word Soccer…
time for a Kit Kat…) ;o)"
The Kingdom are favourites of course as they are the reigning champions but this is a 51%/49% game to them. This is a game the Dubs can win.I dont understand the negativity.Agree if the Yerras win they win final but this is gonna be a tight game.

No offence but you have been overly optimistic all year... even when we got relegated.
You had us beating every single team in Leinster and now you have a Dublin team with a mix of old players way past their best and a few newbies who most outside Dublin never heard of before this season versus a Kerry team in their prime, as a 51% to 49% game.
Wow.

IMO you are both over projecting the Dubs squad who have been awful all season, except the last 2 games
and
not giving the team from Munster enough credit.

IMO there is at least 6pts between these teams.
PP have Kerry as 4/9
and the Dubs at 5/2
Just about right I reckon.

If you are that confident you should follow the poster from Limerick/Kerry and put a wee wager on with PP
;o)

Being from a county that has their fair share of beatings I'd still rather be in the final as not. Going by your quote you'd rather Mayo beat Louth to save Louth getting beat in the final. Weird.

Hopefully three competitive games and as contests they basically aren't over with 20 minutes to play.

Not too bothered about this All Ireland stuff, it's only a consolation thing for those who didn't win Connacht!

I've been present for every finals we have lost since 1997. We've also had many great days in big games. While we have not won it yet I'd rather we are contenders regularly than not. Which we are. I'm sure there is great excitement in Louth this week and I'd be shouting for ye if ye were playing anyone else. As I said previously may the best team win.

No offence taken but we had players injured that are back now.
P.P has a 3 point handicap.I only backed us twice this year against Donegal and Galway.I might be over cinfident but you had Dubs in the gutter Fionn. We are here on merit.

The Dubs haven't a hope. Kerry to put down a marker and hammer them.

I never said we weren't there on merit but if a Kerry team in their prime and at their peak, can't beat an ageing and partly inexperienced Dubs team, then I will eat my hat.
They have all their players back, timing their run perfectly, and we are so over reliant on Con who is playing through injury.

If I was from Kerry and I saw their group of players lose to this group of Dublin players, I would be calling for Jack to walk… simple as that.

Yes, from where we were a month ago to getting to an All Ireland Semi Final, more than makes me happy and way beyond my expectations this season. And it gives me optimism for next year. Ger being on the sidelines has had a major impact also.
As I have already said, anything else this season is a bonus.

I honestly just hope we put it up to them.
I think we can but won't win.
Kick outs are key imo to giving us any type of a platform in the game. And then we have their star forward.
We need him to have an off day, and he doesn't have too many of them in fairness.

I will be on the Hill this weekend and giving our lads all my support. In good times and bad…!

Replying To tirawleybaron:  "One off minor titles don't lead to much - now winning a few in a row, or adding a minor win to an U20 win and your building a future senior team who could win an All Ireland.

Of all that competitions that needs a B competition - minor is it. 14 counties have never won an All Ireland minor and only one of them have won an All Ireland in the last 100 years.

Leinster Kildare, Kilkenny, Wexford, Longford, Carlow, Wicklow
Connacht Leitrim, Sligo
Ulster Antrim, Donegal, Fermanagh, Monaghan
Munster Limerick, Waterford

I would have though if you wanted to give weaker counties a change to develop their young players - having a competition that allows them play into the summer would be the best way to do it."
This post caught my eye. A little off topic to the topic thread but interesting from a donegal point of view being that county that has won that senior all ireland without winning a minor.

I agree completely on the b competition being needed and it's kind of poetic that donegal won that competition this year. A first ever minor all ireland even it's a secondary competition is nothing to be sniffed at. It's also really good to play teams in competitive match outside ones province. Ulster is too claustrophobic and it was great to be given the opportunity to play Dublin and louth this year in a competitive matches. I do think it will serve played development to be given more matches at minor.

The Kerry - Dublin championship rivalry pre-2011 was built upon championship clashes in a "neutral" Croke Park. Dublin have been playing their home league games in Croke Park since 2011. It has changed the dynamic of Kerry - Dublin championship clashes in what is now Dublin's home league ground.
Kerry's record against Dublin in Croke Park since 2011 makes for dismal reading. Kerry are still approaching these games with a pre-2011 mindset. If Kerry travel to Croke Park on Sunday with the mindset they might have approached taking on Armagh in Armagh in Round 3, Kerry might have some reasonable chance of backing up the surprising odds that have installed Kerry as favourites.
Interestingly when Kerry and Dublin clashed in the 2001 quarter final and replay in Thurles, Kerry had offered toss of a coin for home advantage. Dublin for only reasons that Dublin can explain - declined the offer!!

They have more of a hope than you think. Very foolish writing them off.
