Very enjoyable game last night and a reasonable crowd. Harriers lively, hungry for work. Used the ball well with Chin providing leadership at key moments. Gorey's Puck outs continously put them in trouble with the corner backs struggling big time in possession. A lot of the Gorey players looked to be struggling with the pace of the game especially in the 2nd half and appeared to have no confidence in their panel to use subs. Harriers made changes to good effect and we're worthy winner, loads of talented player with real desire while Gorey looked a tired ageing tram.

Seen bits of the game on CLubber but that was one thing i picked up on also - Gorey looked a tired team and were struggling with the pace. Thursday evening games can be tough but it is the same for both teams. Big win for Harriers and I think they will push on now as are pretty much safe from finishing bottom.

Find the main commentator very good. The co comm not so much. Don't think I'm alone.

Funny bunch the Harriers- potential and talent there. But so Jekyl and Hyde in performances. If could get some consistency you would have them as contenders.

I dont mind them, Eds microphone was maybe a little loud, but the 2 lads are both knowledgeable, and not inclined to spoof.
The game itself was entertaining, the county lads were decent enough. Harriers workrate was probably better overall, as was their efficency in front of the posts. Harriers hurling, especially the short game, was better than Goreys too. Goreys discipline let them down in the closing stages, you can't give the referee dissent these days.
Of the lads not playing county this year Mac had some good scores, hit some wides too though, but still isnt a 90% freetaker . Charlie Mcguckin was busy, more effective in the 1st half, Aodhan Doyle was quieter than usual too.
Jamie Kennedy stepped up from minor well, great news for our county u20s, who should have a very decent set of forwards next year.
Clancy was good, his workrate and speed seem to have improved also, and Alex Lynch did well again for the second week running in a position of need for us at county level. Josh Shiel was busy, tidy hurler.

Very hard to listen to. Gets too excited for routine scores. Main commentator is grand

Tell me about it. I thought we would be in the mix last year but just couldn't get going.

I was delighted with that result last night. For Mulley in particular.

Main commentator excellent. Co Comm goes off on awful tangents.

The year lost to Gorey by a point was the chance. Mr. Owens.

I dunno why my last post wasn't put up but as a Cushinstown man and know the lads on the line they are not happy with what is going on. It's not just Sean it's two other lads they want.

Was it not Colin Whelan's decision?

Martins easily beat Gorey in the semi final that year of if I can remember correctly. Look they won't be getting carried away with being bet last night but they should be better than they are. They don't look fit in my opinion have some great hurlers but don't seem to be getting the best out of themselves. Then and again there's no championships won after round 2 either maybe they are looking down the line.

Was looking at the programme last week and thought that the Martin's, Rathnure, and Gorey has the most settled teams compared to last year

In Gorey's case, their team might be too settled, I know Kennedy has come in and I don't know if they're an ageing team but a lot of them should be in their prime right now, I think their problems are a few years down the line as some of their older players age and it doesn't look like what's coming through is as good as the players they'll be replacing

Tbh, that's probably been through for a little while now, think all of them bar Kennedy were on their Senior team that won the County title in 2023, not much change in between, you always need a little bit of change

Go back to Oulart when they won 10 out of 13 titles and they would've had very good young players in 2004 like the two Jacobs, Rossi, Des Mythen, Nicky Kirwan, Stephen Doyle, Darren Stamp, and Paul Roche along with their older lads, then had the likes of Garrett Sinnott and David Redmond coming through and then Eoin Moore and Shaun Murphy after them so when the older lads stepped away, they were still able to support their "golden generation"
