Outrageously unfair on our fine minor team.

Leaves a very sour taste.

Willie Maher and many more need to publicly call out this stupid system and make sure it is changed so that it never happens again.

Super well done to players and management for proving that we can more than mix it with the very best that there is in Leinster. Big days ahead.

Totally unfair. You finished with more points than Kilkenny and Dublin, and the same as us. Ridiculous system.

Brilliant post optimism in a situation of complete injustice.
Big congrats to a fine team and to a management who gave us victories over Dublin,Laois,Offaly and Kerry and but for ten minutes of madness before and after half time against Kilkenny we would have qualified despite the dumb system.

These group of lads need to be looked after and kept together, they can clearly mix it with the top teams. No reason we cant make a big impact at U20 over the next 3 seasons, I'd have this current management team at u20 for those 3 seasons. We can use this injustice as motivation.

Hard luck lads, was a very poorly-devised format and the fact you are out after two wins from three and Dublin are then through with three points (Having lost to ye) and KK are through on two points shows how unfair it is, don't think the four best teams are the same four who have made the SFs

On the plus side, that's a very good side ye have and ye wouldn't be that far off being the best team in Leinster, don't think there's much between us, Galway, KK, and Dublin and ye beat Dublin and were giving KK a game of it until the penalty, standard of Wexford-KK was ve very good today, don't think Munster can be too far ahead at Minor level, would guess Westmeath would be competitive with the Munster teams

Coláiste Mhuire play at A level all the way up in hurling, had a good team this year at Senior A, that'll stand to ye a lot going forward, we're deeply unlucky to lose out on making the SFs but at least you have some very good prospects to look forward to

With all teams having played 2 top tier teams and one qualifying team in the latest stage this should have been the table -

1 Galway 5pts
2 Wexford 4pts
3 Westmeath 4pts
4 Dublin 3 pts
5 Kilkenny 2 pts
6 Laois 0 pts

Leinster Semi Finals -

Galway v Dublin
Wexford v Westmeath

Would have had a semblance of fairness at least.

Still waiting on the outcry from our hutling nation.

Its no wonder Leinster hurling is falling so far behind Munster when you think about it, ridiculous systems like this in place.

also the fact as far as im aware, getting to a leinster semi wouldnt have been the end to the year either, i think getting to a leinster semi gaurenteed an all ireland preliminary qtr final against a munster team...and who knows what could have happened. this could and should have been a journey where no westmeath minor team had gone before.
the more i think about it the more frustrated i get and disheartened....

Extremely disheartening and unfair. Trying to be positive and thinking we should have 3 good years at u20 with this group, just hoping we keep them all together. The plan should be for the vast majority of these lads to go on to hurl senior and hopefully be back in Leinster by then too.
