Replying To Mick1234:  "I hear Luke Loughlin is out with the handspring. It was sore before the Longford game. he probably should not have played. In the Longford game, he's going to be a big loss. looks like County is over for this year."
Good man Mick, Mark McHugh will be delighted with you spreading the great news.

Danny McCartan would be my choice. Keep the three men inside with pace.

Easy solution - fly home, Ronan O'Toole start him, get Heslin out of retirement and bring him on as an impact sub for the last 10 mins, really isn't rocket science lads.............

We'll be calling on Larry Giles and Ger Heavin next. 2 legends of Westmeath football but i'm not sure the bodies will be up to it now sadly! :-)

Was only a bit of satire but to answer you properly - if those two are out, I'd probably put Danny Mac inside, drop Conor Lynam back to wing-back, and bring Shane Ormsby in at 12 if Luke and Whittaker aren't there

Look, we'll throw him on the 26, but we'll only bring him in if we have a 21-yard free to win the game.

First and foremost best wishes to Luke on his recovery from injury , devastating blow ahead of Sunday , but I have faith in mark and the lads to dig in put the shoulder to the wheel and get the job done , it won't be easy by any means but let's all get out and get behind the lads and make tullamore a sea of maroon and white Sunday IARMHI ABU

In lukes absence I would play Brandon kelly at full forward with Shane corcoran and Danny mcartin as our 2 corner forwards. Huge lack of experience and guile without him . I'm sure he will be there encouraging the lads on sunday

Devastating blow to lose Luke for the season. Wishing him a speedy recovery. Hes entitled to post what he wants on social media but it could have been held off until after Sunday . Keep Kildare guessing I guess. I heard he was 50 50 and wouldnt know until the warm up on Sunday but that confirms it

Terrible news hearing that the season is over for Luke Loughlin with a serious hamstring tear.
He announced it himself last night.
Gutted for him and Westmeath tbh.

Another reason why I hate this current condensed Inter County Season.
There is absolutely no room to manoeuvre when a player gets an injury.

I would love to see W/meath get to the Leinster Final, but without their talisman, the job gets a lot more difficult.
You could see the difference it made to the Meath game when he came off injured.
A 10pt lead cut down to just 2pts during that time, I think it was.

Get well soon Luke.

Major blow loosing Luke, wish him a speedy recovery. But we have to stay positive, taking out Luke's scores we scored 3-23 against Longford and 4-12 against Meath so we have plenty of scoring power in the team. I know the overall loss is massive as a leader etc but we cannot go to Tullamore with the attitude its over because Luke is out. Hopefully Whitaker will be ok...
