Replying To Taypot:  "You were correct, we were limited up front but not as limited as ye were."
Two teams who tried not to lose rather than win. Second time watching Sligo very impressed with Walsh at midfield and the other walsh lad off the bench made a big impact

Replying To Sligoman1234:  "Sligo are "very poor" and Leitrim 2nd bottom in Division 4? Sligo 1/20 and Leitrim 8/1 for those fond of an early bet. 15 years and counting since Leitrim beat Sligo in league or championship....Tails are certainly not up in Sligo but if we manage to lose to Leitrim Sunday week and it in Markievicz it'd go down as one of the most embarrassing results in recent years given the form of Leitrim the past two years. I think I trust the bookies on this one."
This post gave me great amusement. In Connacht Sligo are like ourselves and Roscommon, absolute minnows compared to the big two. By your talk you're talking up this game like it was Man City v Walsall, when it reality it is comparable to Walsall v Crewe Alexandra. Embarrassing indeed.

There has been progress in our u20s compared to last year, last year we had heavy defeats in all group games and got a win against a second string Galway side in the shield. This years team has been competitive in both games so far and really should have gotten a result, there has been some really good additions to the team, Fox, Kerr, farrel, Torsney, etc I do believe this team can pull off a suprise before the year ends

You change like the auld weather Wowyser. Don't be worrying about titles in Leitrim. It's about being competitive and hard working. You are good people's you are. We welcome you in all grades. We'll have a fry up in Croghan and a drink or two on Mohill. We're safe on Division one and four and life is fairly good. Let the young and older men play the games and sit back and enjoy. Fair play for respect for Ros, Galway,Mayo and Sligo. Gentleman. Love to all.

100 percent if we beat Roscommon and we lose to mayo and sligo lose to Galway which could happen. 3 teams will be on 2 points is it scoring difference or a mini league table between the 3 teams to decide who gets 3rd

Which proves my point, two big teams of Galway and Mayo will always compete for provincial glory, while the rest are lucky to make the occasional final. And there's no shame in that.

The discussions about the club leave fairly fell off a cliff….

You had no point. I've pointed out that little bit of research goes a long way.

And on the topic Roscommon reached the Minor Connacht final tonight by beating Mayo in Castlebar by 10 points. Its their 3rd Connacht final in a row at that level.

No shame in giving your neighbours Roscommon a bit of credit with how they hold their own with the "big two" in Connacht.

Just over a week until the Sligo game , hard to feel confident of us even been competitive based on our league showing, heard Donal Casey is ruled out for the year, did he get another injury? The lad has had an awful time with injury.

What's it to you who I give credit to. It is plain to see there is a big two in Connacht going by senior titles won.

Here is some research for you, Galway have 51 provincial titles, Mayo has 47. All the rest are nowhere.

There's plenty of opportunity for you to praise your county on your own thread

I am clinging to the championship match last year V Mayo when league form went out the window and we took the game to them infront of a paltry home support.
We have been there or there abouts v sligo at senior and u20 last year or so. Spirit of 2011 needed.
We cannot let them build up a big lead and then go chasing. Slow starts is a pattern across our teams of late. Grow into the game.
Apart from Casey, and obviously Darren, how are we looking on the injury/availability front?
Hopefully a bit of decent weather and good travelling crowd

Sligo are eminently beatable, they had a shocking league campaign, on a par with ours. There should be no fear of them.
