A few pints at McCarthys afterwards. Ha ha.

I know we are playing a much more short passing game this year but looking at the team for tomorrow night I wouldn't mind seeing us fire a few high balls into the full forward line on top of Whelan and Rabbitte and see how Kilkenny deal with it.

Pres Athenry into the final against St Kierans. Didn't really hurl that well today in attack but they were at least more efficient than Flannan's who had a horrid amount of wides. A lot of good performances in defence for Pres. Kierans will be favourites in the final but Pres might have a chance if they could get Ronan Murphy and Matthew Cloonan back from injury. Frank Burke also out injured is a huge loss. It would be a bit mad if this is the year Pres win it when they lost last year's final with a team that had four current Galway senior players on it.

Handiest game of the league so far. Even the Offaly game was far tougher than tonight. We should be lobbying Derek Lyng to start that half back line of Deegan, Blanchfield and Corcoran again in the championship - not an ounce of pace between them.

lol. Yeah very true but sports is strange so anything can happen especially if it doesn't make sense.

Rabbitte didn't start but he was good when he finally did come in.

Fair play to Donoghue. Galway had nothing the last few years but he seems to be building a fine young side now. Still would have Limerick as favourites this Summer followed by Cork and Tipp but Galway hurlers are heading in a very positive direction. As somebody outside Galway, I had wondered what happened to all that underage talent in Galway. We're seeing it now at senior level coming through.

I am not sure if it's about Kilkenny "turning up" anymore.

They simply do not have the talent of years past. This could be famous last words, but even with the lads still to come back, I don't think they are as talented as Galway. Lawlor was such a huge piece for them and it does not sound like he will come back from Oz at all this year

You are right. They probably dont have the talent thst they had. They do normally have the Kilkenny never say die spirit though and I expect that to be back from here until they exit the championship whenever that may be. If the opposition aren't up for the fight they will be beaten.
