Looks like a dirty day on Sunday. Wet and windy. Pity we won't get today's conditions. Marooned (Galway) - Posts: 2502 - 27/02/2026 13:29:06 2658886 Link 1 |

Handy win today and we are building a lovely panel this year. The new faces have certainly added a lot to the team. We should be beating Kilkenny at home next week to ensure top division hurling for next year. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 1061 - 01/03/2026 15:36:40 2659213 Link 1 |

"Should be" is an O T T choice of words bordering on delusion. We have a very good chance of beating KK next week, no more and no less than that. Cork , whom most would agree are considerably ahead of us atm found it hard enough to shake off KK today in a fiercely contested physical contest. You always have to earn victory against KK , we should all know that by now.

That Kilkenny Cork game was played in terrible conditions on a pitch that cut up badly. Cork were never going to be able to get their hurling going in that weather so it's probably a bit of a false score line. The reality is Kilkenny in this league have laboured to a win over Offaly, got a last minute winner against Waterford and were well beaten by Limerick. They are without Lawlor, TJ, Billy Ryan, Mullen and Shane Murphy. If we can't beat them at home we are at nothing.

Cork's 'hurling' isn't anything out of the ordinary imo. It's their prodigious level of speed through the field, and their commitment to killing you with that speed, that teams generally can't live with. They have the touch in all positions too, but it tends to be their aggregate of pace through the field, and especially up front, that troubles opposition the most imo.
