Couldn't get over to Carrick today but it sounded like a very unconvincing win and London will be, as you say, very confident in two weeks. We really needed to be putting at least 10 points on Waterford. Anyhow, looking forward to Ruislip in 2 weeks.

Very unconvincing. Waterford arguably the better team, Waterford were very wasteful. Midfield was a big issue for us. We were slow with everything, slow kickouts, slow play etc.
On a positive note Jack kelly is fantastic footballler and its great to have Ryan back. And we showed good composure to see out the game in the last ten minutes when it looked like Waterford could pull off a shock.

Which is not suprising to hear as I commented last week that I thought our backline was our weakest link despite playing well enough last week. The break will hopefully serve us well to work on tightening up defence. Big game in two weeks will make or break our season.

Tbh, It was actually an excellent game for a young team, squandered a 9 point lead, Waterford drew level, but was great to see strong substitutions and a strong finish, Waterford kept scoreless for final 20, I'd say playing at Joe and being expected to win created nerves at times, A win is a win, Only a kick of the ball away from being joint top of the table, London will be a bigger test for sure, but the fact that Wicklow and Antrim aren't waltzing along makes DIV 4 very interesting

Yes a win is a win. I just hope we don't have any regrets later on. Division 4 is going to be very interesting. I know Carlow & London seem to be in form at the moment but it's early days yet. No easy games to come but we have nothing to fear.

Good win for Leitrim against a dogged Waterford.as stated 2 soft goals put a gloss on the score. Up to six returnees for London game which, maybe more. That list includes Barry, Cillian,Tom ,Paul,& possibly the new lad from Dublin. Strongest line up in 2 years. Looking good.

Get all those lads back and promotion is within our grasp, just can't really afford to drop many more points, looks like promotion will be a dog fight

He's Michael Walsh midfield Ballybode/St Enda's who has been training with Leitrimbut due to thigh strain has been in recovery. Mother comes from Annaduff & might be in contention for London or home game against Antrim.

Popped on to see how the game went on Sunday for ye as heard it was tighter than scoreboard suggests. Ye should bottle the optimism some Leitrim supporters get. Remember that Waterford were the worst team in division 4 last year. Ye beat them in a dogged battle as one poster put it at home, yet there's talk about promotion already!

For Leitrim to be in promotion battle it means at minimum beating Tipp, London, Longford. And them your probably looking at 3 points out of 4 from Carlow and Antrim, otherwise your hoping that the likes of Wicklow slip up somewhere because they have ye on head to head and have already played Carlow who appear to be the front runners at this point. Antrim are the big surprise in that they look to be poor, will that continue though? Thanks very much.

Sure what is the point in playing in the competition if ya don't talk about promotion, especially since it isnt that long promotion happened before.

Sligo are a shoo in for relegation yet it won't stop promotion talk either!

Sligo have the same points as Leitrim. Yet yer saying yer up for promotion and we are up for relegation. Ya need to take things in perspective, beating the worst ranked team from 2025 league is hardly hang up the bunting territory. I wouldn't even think about promotion until ya get close to round 5. Each game as it comes. London is massive for Leitrim and tbh do Leitrim really want to be promoted again with such a limited panel at present. I think they would be best served with a rebuilding period and if finished top 3/4 would be a good start from the disaster of 2025.

I don't pretend to know what Sligo is at in Division 3 and you shouldn't pretend you know what Leitrim is at in Division 4 for the good folk on the thread to be positive about our chances. In fairness you have no clue why we would be positive. We are well capable of winning all our remaining games, whether that happens or not is another thing. But we are capable and I can't speak for anyone else when I say that but I don't say it lightly.

I dont necessarily disagree with this. We are definitely in a rebuild period. The last time we were promoted it was a disaster, the only way we will improve as a county is to stay in Division 3 when we get promoted.

I am very encouraged by some of the young lads coming in and another year in Division 4 will do them no harm, a top 3 finish in the league and be competitive in the Tailteann Cup would be a good year in my opinion.

Wexford are a good template they should have went up instead of us in 2024 the extra year in Div 4 has done them no harm, they will probably stay in Div 3 this year.
