Thank you CCFabu. He is certainly a super player and a real workhorse too.Only for him today ,Donegal would have won by double figures.

The name "Division 1B" in hurling is to soothe the egos of certain counties relegated from Division 1.
Division 2 in football is more worthy of an enhanced name. The battle line for championship qualification. While Division 1 naturally has higher ranked teams, Division 2 is where the proper competition is.

1b should be called division 2

After watching league highlights ,it appeared to me Dublin score a legitimate two pointer at end of the Dublin/Mayo game that was not credited on the scoreboard.

With time running out Cormac Costello kicked the ball before the hooter sounded and while the ball was on route the hooter then sounded. The ball looked like it went over the bar (maybe anyone at game could clarify).
Maybe it dropped short but from my view it looked like it went over the bar.

Now while it would nt have affected the result,it could be very important re scoring averages come the end of the league for both counties.

It should.

Some start by Wexford in Division 3. Mixing it with Down and Westmeath.

Correct CiarraiMick, and if they kept the rule that game is over when the ball goes dead there would be no confusion.

We have beaten 2 teams that on the day played pretty poorly. Limerick next up in Rathkeale, not an easy place to go. Hopefully have a few more of the better lads back fit for the tail end of the League, and see where that gets us. One game at a time.

Final kick landed around the 14m line. Not sure what you were watching - Maybe Dean Rock 10 years ago.

No one in the ground (nor the Dubs around me either) were talking about a disallowed 2 pointer. Dublin were well beaten on the day, no one really complaining of getting robbed bar yourself.

Replying To GerBo:  "Going a bit off topic here but is it just me or the TV schedule and the schedule of games in general this weekend really poor? Especially given it's a Bank Holiday weekend.

We once again have a top heavy Football TV schedule and even within that one of the glamour fixture of the weekend in Mayo vs Dublin isn't able to streamed/televised anywhere. I honestly think it's a joke and pathetic that other than the games on BBC NI iplayer, there are no games on GAA+. The whole purpose of GAA+ should be to show additional games (like the ifollow for the EFL in England) and not just Sky's old package from the Championship.

No disrespect intended but why is Cavan vs Meath or just a Division 2 Football on a hurling and football double-header weekend your headline Sunday game (say we take the 3:45 game on TG4 as the equal of Sky Sports with the 4:30 Premier League on a Sunday).

As I have made reference too already, it's a bank holiday weekend and yet the GAA have sandwiched all games for Saturday and Sunday and some many interesting games untelevised or streamed.

I get it's not a bank holiday in the north and unfair to put hurling games on the BH Monday with games the following weekend, but some Football games could be the BH Monday with a break weekend coming. Cavan v Meath or Kildare vs Offaly would be prime games to put on BH Monday being neighbours or better yet play on Friday night and free up the TV schedule more. I think on hurling and football double-header weekend, there should be a night game between neighbouring counties.

And the schedule should have been better organised this weekend to have ensured there would be a ground with floodlights in Division 1 Football or Division 1A Hurling to have the 3:45pm on Sunday. For example given Limerick had a bye last weekend, could the GAA have not fixed their game to be at home instead of away and have that as the 3:45pm game and make it a double header with the Footballers instead of having them in Rathkeale on Saturday."
Not sure why you went at a Division 2 game (and it ended up being great) as they usually get very few games. this one worked

This is a new bank holiday, and isn't a bank holiday for the whole island. Be a bit lousy to have games on Monday when people in the 6 are at work and can't watch

Exactly Saynothing. Also that two pointer (if it was) could have a big bearing on another team too for example if Mayo qualified for a league final on score difference by a point or two not to mention Dublin if they lost out on a place over scoring aggregate or were relegated because of it.

2 wins upon promotion is a great start. Kildare staying in D2 could be enough for both D3 finalists to qualify for the championship.

Best team won but we might have had a better game if Dublin had 15 for the second half, crazy decision by the officials, what did they think they saw.
