I certainly agree with maintaining Mcdonagh status. The league without the experience of Egerton and O Reilly wont be easy. If we dont go into the game against Kerry next week with serious intensity we will be well beaten.Kerry almost always play to their potential because of their mentality but if their intensity is matched they are very beatable. A defeat there means we must beat Laois in Mullingar if we are to be promotion contenders something we have to achieve in 26 or 27 whatever about notions of team building.

Must be our most inexperienced team ever to line out in a competitive match, new keeper, corner back, wing forward, teams average age approx 23, hopefully they go well

I hope they are tuned in to the intensity Kerry will bring. Its going to be a very difficult start against a team with a good win under their belt. There is talent there, i dont know the line out but i imagine it will be very much Raharney and CTG based with the 2 Williams,Shaw,Regan,Mccormack and Cunningham sure starters. If we are 100% ready and uo for it we can win but anything else a certain defeat.

A new team no doubt. I looked back at the last team from 2025 where coincidentally we played Kerry in Tralee and recorded a comfortable victory. We have only 5 starters from that team, Mark Cunningham, K.Doyle, Cuneen, D.Williams, P.Clarke. Regan, R.Keyes & S.Williams were subs, Matthew Cunningham, D.Ennis & J.Gillen were subs also, Gillen was sub goalie. Eight from last years panel starting, 11 off the last panel. The goalie & 6 backs are gone from last year, that's massive when put into context. Everybody knows about Jogger, Robbie Greville, Clinton & Aaron Craig not involved this year, but the following are also gone, G.Greville, E.McCabe, A.Ennis, C.Gaffney, D.Hickey, D.Glennon, J.Boyle, Mitchell, and the 2 O'Briens. That' s 14 from last year and I'd say we lost 10 from 2024 into 2025. We've effectively lost a panel of players in 2 years. Luckily enough Johnny B, Darragh McCormack and Conor Shaw are back for experience, and Josh Coll will be a good addition. Mark Cunningham will hopefully adapt quickly to wing back and E.Keyes back in the forwards is a positive. Hard work and energy is going to be vital tomorrow, best of luck to all involved, a victory is achievable.

Well that is a very changed team alright. It's essential to see some new faces and rebuilding has to happen sometime. In 3 years if he can keep them together and add back in more experienced or other new players it could be a solid panel.

No doubt we will be giving out and lamenting on the forum if the result is bad in this one but we have to give it some time. Let's wait and see…

No matter the result no one can criticise this group or the management in the first 4-5 matches, an overhaul was needed, it's a 3-4 year plan
