Wont be dealt with at Convention.

It will take a lot of talk around the big round table in the bog to sort this mess out…..

Pity. Seen one of the ex Tyrone lads talking on a podcast about the county game eating the club game alive - seems to be an issue in every county. The league and reserve competitions in Monaghan are a series of glorified challenge matches that do nothing for player development and do very little to incentivise lads to stick at the ball. Realistically for players not playing county ball these days there's only really 3/4-6 games worth playing in a calendar year.

I heard the mcphillips's and gartlan back with killanny, really good work from killanny that could get them across the line again. Inniskeen looking for a big name too."
Inniskeen haven't changed management.....

A number of clubs have tabled the league finishing before championship. Mental what was going on leaving them so late. Another club has proposed minors finishing before September which is only fair on the young lads. Long enough year for them without it dragging into November.

Support those motions 100%, but they wont be dealt with at Convention.

Will mccurrin get subbed on late in extra time again if they manage to take kilcoo to extra time like they did newbridge??? What is the predictions for this game all of you Scotstown/tydavnet/ballinode/knockatallen/sean mcdermotts/roslea/currin men

Very hard to know. In 2023 scotstown had to play out of there skin to beat kilcoo who probably gifted them the win with a late mistake. Last year, Scotstown were ran ragged. Kilcoo are not as good as 2022 but still have alot of quality in their ranks. On the balance of last weeks game, i think kilcoo will have enough. Any Ulster final Scotstown has been it's been a complete rollercoster. They need a consistent 60 minute performance with alot of discipline to win. I think kilcoo with edge it.

Was chatting to a currin man earlier in the week and he reckons there'll be an ulster title sitting in Connollys next sat evening after a titanic struggle where it might take extra time to separate them …

Why would it be great? They just won a Monaghan club championship while two starting county senior players (McCarthy and O'Toole) played about a combined 30 minutes of total championship minutes. The McCurrin transfer has completely killed the Monaghan senior club scene. Look at Inniskeen and Clontibret losing McNulty and McDonnell to emigration for the upcoming season, would that happen if they had a realistic chance of winning a championship? Most likely not.
When one club can field 5 adult teams and nobody else can field more than two (some can string together a 3rd team by making calls asking lads to tog out for day), then you are going to have exactly what we have - The least competitive senior championship in the country.

I'd be thinking Scotstown by 3 or 4, depending on McCarthy's fitness. If he's fit to come on at HT, then they will win. Very few teams in the country have the size to match Scotstown around the middle third, and Kilcoo are not one of them.

Champagne our county champions don't begrudge them. Just because they are 8-10 points better, when at full strength, than those chasing them you shouldn't be bitter. Hard work got them to this level so it's up to the rest to simply get better and lay a glove on them!
