They are already title contenders along with Shandonagh and St. Malachys. A lot will depend on how quickly Conor Dillon can return to his best and if they can get the likes of Jack Murtagh injury free and back to 2024 form.

Tumelty/Galvin to Castkedaly rubbish, the only reason Foley was in Castledaly last year was because they couldn't get anyone else, they were lucky to get out of group b . Hard to see MTP talking to Foley

Whether they were lucky or not they got promoted from Division 3 and got to a QF; they are certainly in transition where a lot of their better players are coming to the end and they are probably trying to introduce young players, all of whom might not be ready. Not every team can just be automatically brilliant every year. Getting to a QF in 2026 would be a big achievement as realistically Shandonagh, St. Malachys, Milltown and most likely Milltownpass will make it out and Multy could sneak in at someone's expense. The gap is widening between Section A and B I feel. You'd also feel Rosemount and Rochfortbridge will cruise out of the B section.

Coming from a rural club, I would swap every challenge faced on that list for the chance to try and attract more players

Completely agree . To be fair the point that nobody would take them is prob true . A team in transition . Already lost paddy holloway in recent years ,alan stone is ageing and on one leg and lorcan dolan at the end of his career. foley i assumed like any good club man realised they were in transition and helped steady the ship. To be fair ,they he had an excellent year, and deserves alot of credit. There is a serious gap between the top sides and the rest. Rosemount should bounce straight back up . They were hindered with alot of injuries this year. You would imagine they will blow the other teams in section B out of the water . Who to be relegated is prob toughest call. Ballymore ? Maryland ? Tang ? Marooned2019 (Offaly) - Posts: 13 - 28/11/2025 10:13:18 2646296 Link 0 |

If Tang get relegated from intermediate squad would be some achievement from them this year.

CCFW / Ballinagore surely more likely to go down at intermediate. Gaalover1989 (Westmeath) - Posts: 37 - 28/11/2025 11:18:27 2646312 Link 0 |

Sure he didn't play with the county bar a couple of minutes here and there

He trained with them all year meaning he wouldn't have been with the club all year until county exited championship. He will be a great addition to the Maryland player group for the entire year which he wouldn't have been for since he was 18. A great boost for any young lad coming through at Maryland to be training and learning from Kieran throughout the winter

Milltown will definitely push for Intermediate again in 2026 if they keep everyone and have Conor Dillon fit. Jack Murtagh and Dara Hynes are travelling in 2026?? St. Malachys in talks with Graham Corcoran (last years Multy manager) , also heard Ballymore contacted him as well. Rigney (first name??) contacted by St. Joseph's & Ballynacarrigy. Rigney with Multy last year. Foley taking a year out due to work commitments. JakeWest (Westmeath) - Posts: 13 - 28/11/2025 18:06:13 2646369 Link 0 |
