Why are some soccer fans giving out about gaa and rugby instead of enjoying the win ? What is the reason they feel the need to attack other sports on one of the great days in Irish soccer? Most people support all the teams

Not talking about fans so much - we all have our clowns - but there is huge and long standing hatred between Dublin FAI and ourselves. No idea if that is case elsewhere.

They deliberately refused to use Hill 16 on tickets when we foolishly let them in. "Northern Terrace"!!

Some may mock me, but you don't sneer at our history and expect us to be overjoyed with your occasional success!

I'm not anti soccer but I'm not a fan of the FAI.

Well that is pathetic that they'd rename the stand.

I will say however the national anthem is respected more and sang with much more gusto at soccer games than GAA games, even All Ireland final day. There is routine and normalised disrespect of the anthem at games, lads can't wait to cut it off early and feels like it's ending more prematurely by the year. Seem to be a bit better at given its due respect in Ulster games.

You can add the fact that when other sports and concerts were in the fans were treated better than the ordinary GAA supporters.

I even see it here in Donegal were I'd say a lot of soccer fans are very anti GAA, it's a weird state of mind wherever it originates.

that wasnt likely FAIs decision but FIFA/UEFA who have all kinds of rules around names for areas of stadiums as well as names of stadiums.

That was in the past. Last two years or more it's. Even given great respect.

I'm curious too. I was at both soccer and rugby matches when they were being played in Croke Park. I don't remember the spectator experience being any different from when I attend GAA matches there.

So I'm wondering how exactly was I "treated better" ????

Not that I'd personally want it, but other sports fans could, and had the option to take drinks back to enjoy in their seats, it's as if they are more civilised than us mere mortals.

I hope i am not being presumptious but i guess he might be referring to fact rugby supporters allowed bring alcohol to seats?

Personally i think that is terrible idea. If you can't last a short time without a drink, stay in pub.

Still, it tells its own tale does it not of how both fans are regarded!
