Replying To alalalalalum:  "Personally I think Fenagh should go back to their traditional red jersey. In the deepening gloom of Pairc Sean yesterday I feel they found it very hard to see their team mates"
I wondered why they have changed also.

Replying To Tacaí Liatroma:  "I wonder when was the last time in Leitrim we had first-time finalists against the team that's top of the roll of honour. On paper it doesn't come much more David vs Goliath than that, although Leitrim Gaels are doing extraordinarily well."
1973 Allen Gaels vs Ballinamore. Ballinamore won by a point

Then in 1991 Allen Gaels beat Ballinamore ( still top of roll of honour at the time, and also now) for their first title.

You'd have to give SoH every chance so on that basis. He couldn't combat the Kerry kicking game earlier in the year and SoH are very potent from midfield up. Witch-doctors all over the country these days…..

senior final will be interesting, Balinamores defence looked very solid against fenagh, their forwards are also playing well, for leitrim, it all depends how the Jones lads play, we know their quality, however have leitrim gaels the defence to hold the ballinamore forwards, that a big battle, that being said, this game will be won a midfield. its a huge battle, whoever gets on top there will win it out. i'm going for leitrim by 2.

Rynn Gaels (Gortletteragh and Bornacoola) won their Division One Minor semi-final at the weekend. The two neighbouring clubs came together a few years ago when they were struggling to field teams at 13-a-side. The amalgamation wasn't set up to chase underage titles like we've seen elsewhere recently, but to give their players exposure to 15-a-side football at a higher level.

Since then, the group has consistently competed at Division One level and are now finally enjoying the fruits of their hard work. Well done to both clubs, and best of luck in the final.

The county board could take note of this success story and try to apply the same common-sense approach to other proposed amalgamations. Hopefully, the success of the amalgamation will carry through to both clubs' adult teams in the years ahead.

It will take a few years yet before they get anywhere, they did not set the intermediate championship alight and Gort could be relegated yet.

Let's hope in future that underage players can play with their own parishes and not be forced into unnatural amalgamations due to rural depopulation and declining numbers to pick from.

I fear you won't see a club that doesn't involve a large village or town winning a senior title again the way things are going.

Don't be so negative please and thank you. It is quite tiring and emotionally draining. I would fundamentally appreciate your co operation with this request going forward.

Great idea... have you any suggestions on how this can happen.

I think Ballinamore will win but only just.

Just a word on Ryan Jones, I've been so impressed with him- I have seen him a few games this year and as people have said he is playing an almost quarterback type roll. Dictating the pace, winning possession and setting up scores, picking passes for scores, cleaning up at midfield. He is a joy to watch. Best midfielder on the club scene in Leitrim since Christopher Carroll who played a very similar role to him. Leitrim Gaels would be nowhere near the final with out the jones bros and probably nowhere near it with the other two and not Ryan.

Anyways nailing my colours to the mast - Ballinamore have a better all round team

What's peoples thoughts on SFC final on Sunday. I have seen Leitrim Gaels once ( v St Marys) and Bmore twice this year ( v St Mary's and Fenagh draw). Very little between the teams as far as I can see. Bmore possibly a better balanced team and have the experience. Leitrim have the Jones and an unknown wow factor. I have a slight suspicion the experience of Bmore might carry the day but what a day it would be if LG cud do it

it'd be an empty enough victory to be honest if the Leitrim Gaels do it. it would always be remembered as being won by the Jones's. everyone has to be honest and say they wouldn't be there without the Jones lads,

and as a Leitrim GAA supporter i hope Ballinamore win for the credibility of Leitrim GAA.

Normally, you'd be hoping Leitrim Gaels would win their first Senior Championship but it's very hard to warm to them with the way they've put that team together.

Will Ballinamore be able to keep up with the Jones'? I fear not.

I think Leitrim Gaels will get over the line myself. Been very impressed with them. Obviously the 3 Jones in is a huge boost but I think it's harsh to say there's no way they would have gotten there without them. They've been in 2 quarters and 2 semis the last 4 years so they have been knocking on the door.
