Let's face it only for tg4 no one would have seen much club games for best part of 15 years..think a big problem for them is that a lot of counties have gone to clubber or streamsport, this will limit what they can show..
It will be a pity if they lose out..

The provincial stage of the club championships should have a highlights show on RTE on Sunday evenings. A better production for RTE to invest in than flip flops!

That's basically the nub of it. County boards have realised they can make a decent sum from streaming their games, so it reduces what's available to TG4 to show.
Once we get to the provincials, that won't be the case so we'll have a good selection of games.

There is a big difference, I'd rather have Tyrone championship even with the odd one sided game than a championship where a team can win 5,6,7 championships in a row. Loads of great games all over Ireland and roll on the weekend. Just a pity our club players don't have player welfare to look after them.

That would be brilliant. The Indo Sports podcast had done some coverage of early club games but they haven't seem to have carried it on.

As the Derry man said!:

Errigal Ciaran - out
Glen - out
Corofin - out
Crossmaglen - out
East Kerry - out
Clann Eireann - out
Slaughtneil - out
Cargin - out
Gowna - out
Coolera-Strandhill - just hang on!

There were many big fallers over the weekend.

Club is King!

Finding it very hard to call the winners in any of the Connacht county finals. I'd be tipping Coolera to win second time around in Sligo and Ballinamore to edge Leitrim. Even harder to call Roscommon, Mayo and Galway. If I was pushed I think Pearses might just pip Brigids in Roscommon but I could change my mind again come the end of the week, Ballina to overcome Westport and Moycullen to win Galway.

It is a pity if county boards have chosen to go behind a paywall rather than allow games on free to air TV.
The same lads would then give out if their intercounty provincial games aren't free to air.

Hands up, there is no bigger culprit than Tyrone when money is mentioned. The GAA need to acknowledge how much TG4 has done for the club football scene and help them get the bigger games.

When is the first weekend of provincial club action starting?
Would there be any appetite for a wee predictions competition?

Replying To Saynothing:  "I don't think TG4 have a crystal ball, great to se Dunloy crowned Antrim champions after so long a wait."
They'd need a crystal ball to know that an Antrim final would produce the worst football out of all the finals that were on across the county that day? Interesting.

There was many finals that they could have shown that would undoubtedly been a better watch.

I was only to glad to watch the Antrim final, football doesn't revolve around Dublin, Kerry, Mayo or other top county club teams.

Were there many finals in Antrim yesterday, surely TG4 were correct in showing their Senior final.

The Cavan and Meath finals were both on yesterday. Would have made much more sense for TG4 to show one of those. Both countries with a much deeper history in football than Antrim.

Well it was a better watch than the garbage that was on show in Breffni.

Dodgy boxes are soon going to put an end to the paywalls in Counties. Tyrone were already up in arms about it.

What has history got to with it?

Great win for Dunloy in winning the Antrim football championship, just hope hurling doesn't suffer in what is considered a hurling stronghold.
