We're favourites and should be winning, yes. But favourites don't always win."
Totally agree, I'm confident surely but some people's idea of resting players is redicalus. We put out our strongest team. If things are going well then maybe make a few substitutions.
Louth are a decent side and I certainly would not be underestimating them and Jim won't either.

Get a grip lad. Donegal are 1/14 for a reason. You would need a lot of money on to get pittance back. Bookies know what there at. Only hope of a shock this weekend is in Newry and that's a long shot

Louth a exceptionally well coached team, extremely fit and extremely disciplined defensively.

Reckon it will be a tight game, hopefully Donegal to edge it maybe 0-20 v 1-15 Louth.

It may be a poor price but to guarantee a few bob back its still worth it rory. Stick even 1400 on and it's a handy 100 to pay for your day out on Sunday. As you say no chance of a shock in this one so why not make a few pound? The more you put on the more you make.

They almost lost to Clare. We should be beating them easily

I feel we're definitely improving massively in all lines of the team, bar one. Patton much better under the high ball, defence fouling less in scorable areas, midfield more industrious, Hughie improved massively, half forward line on fire most of the time but massive full forward issue. The league is the league, but amongst all four division players, from our three forwards, our top was ranked 98th with 13pts from 5 matches. Paddy and Oisin just not firing like we need them, and Brennan obviously not doing enough for Jim to earn a starting spot. We'll be facing the best defences in the country going forward, and this could very well be our undoing. Hard to know looking at the club scene if there's anyone out there who could plug the gaps for the rest of Jim's tenure, or even the young forwards on the bench. Funny, when Donegal were winning nothing before Jim's first spell, we always had ridiculously good forwards, but I suppose the way the defensive football plagued the club scene, no youngster in his right mind would enjoy playing in that position through that period.

You could stop for lunch in McGlynns Castlefinn about 8 miles from Ballybofey. They fed the Donegal team for years when they used to train there.

McCahill from 4 masters is an absolute baller. Reminds of O'Donoghue from Mayo. Half a sniff and the net is rattling. He is still very young though. Think he's eligible for the twenties for another 2 years (definitely is next year). I'd say he'll be close sooner rather than later. There is much debate about Gallen in particular. He was good when he came on against Cavan and I thought he did ok last weekend too. He was making lots of runs but Coyne was excellent tagging him.

That's true Eddie, but didn't you say Ban wouldn't play this year and then Jason was gone. I hope you get this prediction right. I was delighted you got the other two wrong.

Louth are a decent side but Donegal should be winning this comfortably to set themselves up for Croke Park. Louth have achieved what they wanted to achieve this year.

Actually think there could be a potential shock here if Louths main players play their best game. Mulroy as good a Murphy. Donegal had a tough group stage. Louth getting energy back. Expect a big push from them here.

Replying To TrueBlue35:  "I think all of the greats get different treatment from rival fans. Murphy has been immense since coming back as you say after 2 years away. I was listening to OTBAM on the way to work this morning and they actually spoke about him and the tactical element of how Donegal have performed this season so far. The question posed mainly centred around Murphy shouldering so much responsibility and as a result you're not seeing the same performance levels from others - Gallen is a case in point. All start forward, previous free taker and now with Murphy back he has been pretty underwhelming and definitely in the shadows. Everyone else from what I've seen have done well in first and bursts only i.e. O'Baoill.

They posed the question of how management can get Murphy plus the 3 or 4 main men all hitting the heights together. I think Murphy is similar to Con for us. We were miles off it when he was injured and I'd wonder how Donegal would function without Murphy such is the key man dependency. I know for certain last weekend if he wasn't there then Mayo would have won the game no doubt. From your perspective you of course hope he stays injury free all season and see where it takes ye. That's the challenge now for McGuinness and I'm sure one he's well aware of but as the championship gets into the latter stages opposition are going to plan for Murphy and don't be surprised if some try to take him out early on."
As Mike Tyson said everyone's got a plan until they get in the ring.

Yeah I'm not underestimating Louth anyway despite what some people think, Louth dipped after the elation of winning Leinster, understandable, we dipped ourselves after beating Armagh in the Ulster final and Tyrone caught us flat at home, and fair play to them.
Louth are coming here on Sunday and everyone is writing them off, dangerous thing to be thinking playing the Leinster Champions, they didn't win Leinster for no reason. Good team with a good manager.
I'll be happy with a 1 point victory and no injuries.

Do you's Jim should give the captains armband to Michael? everyone knows he's the real leader of the team, a natural born leader and captain.
If we do manage the fantastic dream and win this All Ireland, who else would you rather see lift the Sam Maguire aloft for Donegal than Michael Murphy again?

Sam Mulroy is a very good footballer but as good as Murphy? Calm down.

McCole will likely pick him up. Should be a good battle.

I won't be putting any bets on Tirchonaill1. I'm just saying to declansboys if he is so sure of no shocks he should be putting his money where his mouth is.

We've played the most games out of anyone so far, hoping it doesn't catch up with us. I don't care if it's only a 1 point win so long as we go through I will be happy.
