Carlow V Dublin Dr Cullen Park 17Th June

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

After the excitement of yesterday Carlow will wind down celebrations and get ready for a stern test Which will give us an indication of where we are at.
Having 3 weeks between matches gives us a chance to reset and go again
I am under no illusions, Dublin will be raging favourites and rightly so. I am looking forward to getting over for it. Should be a big crowd and Dr Cullen park is a big field with a great hurling surface. Should be a good day out whatever the result.

I'm wondering what happened to the doctor????

i.e. when the Netwatch deal happened, why wasn't it called "Netwatch Dr. Cullen Park" instead of "Netwatch Cullen Park"?

Ya the Dubs performed well overall yesterday, unlucky to have not won perhaps but salvaged something from it all the same, but disappointment to have missed out on a Leinster final appearance. No doubt they will see themselves as favourites to win this one, certainly won't rate Carlow as any more than a potential banana skin ... I'd say this is the way Carlow will like it ...

Dublin certainly will not be taking Carlow for granted. There's been some close enough games between us over the years.
Kavanagh has had some great games against Dublin and is an asset to any team, but he's not a one man show obviously.

Main difference is that Dublin have been hurling at a higher level, which Carlow will be doing next year. It's staying up is the key to maintaining that.

I expect Dublin will win for the above reasons but certainly not expecting it to be a pushover.

Just out of interest do you call the Park Wexford Park or Chadwicks Wexford Park? Not trying to diminish Chadwicks sponsorship at all as everyone knows they sponsor it. My youngest daughter was even on their promotional video for this season after the Walsh Cup game against Kilkenny where some of it was filmed!

Yeah I'll settle for the County grounds but calling it after a bishop is way past its sell by date.

Yes, Dublin will be very wary of this one. I'm sure a good number of this Dublin team were on the team caught out by Laois in 2019. So they'll be very much on their guard.
Fantastic win in the Joe Mac on Saturday, and we'll need the 3 weeks to up it again for the Dubs...

Have never heard anyone include Chadwicks. Most I know call it "The Park".

I just say "the Park" or "Wexford Park". Have never called it Chadwicks Wexford Park in normal conversation, and I never called it Innovate Wexford Park before that either.

I also still say Lansdowne Road and the Point Depot. Might be showing my age with that last one!

Best of luck to both teams though I'm hoping for a Carlow victory.
