Monaghan v Cavan

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Ah jaysis its like AA Roadwatch in here.
Will yis talk about the football instead of the mileage. Its not that far to Blaney.

Cavan will have to play above what we've seen so far this year to stand a chance of beating Monagahn. We don't have a settled team as I said earlier and our forwards are hit & miss (pun intended). No Cavan team named yet but Monaghan have a settled team, no changes for them.
Should be a great atmosphere and plenty of banter in Blaney. Looking forward to it.

I have just checked the following journeys which may also be of interest and as much relevance;

Cavan town - Cape Town is 14,375 km
Coothill - Mogadishu is 12,520 km
Ballinagh - Ashgabat is 7, 169 km

Anyway, were we here to talk about football?

I think this is a close one to call and it always is. McManus is naturally being talked about and usually cause us problems. McGleenan knows the Monaghan set up fairly well and I hope that he has a system to curtail Monaghans momentum. A lot of doom and gloom followed the Dubin game but that was a total mismatch. We, along with some others in this division, are a tier below Dublin and thats the reality of it. There was no shame in last weeks performance only that we made some silly mistakes. But we have a very strong spine in the team and I think we shouls have Galligan back in goals which gives us a good chance of possession off the kick outs. I think there will be an odd score in it and because the stakes are so high, I think that Cavan will prevail. Just.

Typical el classico dour stuff. We were lucky to get the point Cavan slightly better than us today and would have been targeting this one as a must win if they were going to stay up so probably a good result for us but worrying performance showing we haven't really progressed from last year.

Agree with your assessment - the discussions on various venues more exciting than the match.

Replying To Monaghan Exile:  "According to Belfast Telegraph, Blaney will have a 14,000 capacity. If true, more than ample for a Lge game.

fao; turkeyplucker i hope you & RTE guide are right, I was going by both last Weeks League Sunday & TG4's GAA17, when neither channel listed the Mon/Cvn game highlites to be shown . Remember the NHL starts on Sun. too!"
Wouldn't be a bit surprised if Monaghan Cavan was dropped from the programme tonight in favour of Donegal Roscommon or Mayo Kerry, not too many highlights from Blayney unfortunately!
