At least two of them were paid to come up and work for Dublin County Board as games development officers.

more coherent schedule, more games, greater coverage of womens gaa, more analysis, less negativity

Actually report on the gaa games with the same level of promotion of good points and criticism of bad points that they judge the other sports by and not over sensationalise any minor bad thing that happens and skip over the fantastic scores that take place week in week out that go unreported.

Is CJ Stander not living and working in Ireland? Whats the difference between the hurlers coming up to Dublin to work for the DCB and play for Dublin

the sums of money involved, he isnt from ireland...they are amateur, he is a professional...continue with the whataboutery instead of actually engaging with the point..should the irfu be paying huge sums of money to foreigners to play for ireland instead of developing their own players?...i didnt realise there was big money in being a games development officer!

So one is a mercenary because he is paid more than the other...hmm right. I personally dont consider either a mercenary but carry on with the rugby bashing. bad.monkey (USA) - Posts: 4649 - 21/02/2017 22:43:02 1959402 Link 4 |
Ah here so we are being subjected by rte to have to have what effectivly in the irfu eyes is not important competition in the shape of the womens six nations on our screen as they prefer to send there better players off to las vegas to play another game instead, if they don't even value the competition why should the license holders loose out on something better in the prime time slots. hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 22/02/2017 16:59:04 1959614 Link 1 |

Going a bit off topic here but I see the games for the women's world cup will be held at UCD, Queens University Belfast and Kingspan Belfast. Ireland is a country which supports female sport better than most as shown by the excellent attendances and viewing figures for the big gaelic football and camogie games - surely the women's rugby world cup could be better promoted around the country and should have its final at the biggest rugby stadium available? It's interesting that RTE are very keen to support it but the IRFU almost seem indifferent to it.

I didn't say I have to watch it and I didn't know the timing of this game either but a couple weeks back there was about 5 hours on the Saturday from 5pm to 10pm where it was under age and women's rugby six nations and as rte force me to buy a tv licence to allow me watch any kind of tv at all I would have gathered they put something worth while to the viewers like a movie that I could have watched.

Simple answer it's one of the main items on the Irish independent sports area of their website which comes up when you click on sports section so no I don't go looking for rugby but I like sports news so it's hard to avoid seeing it when most of the headlines are about rugby so when I was scrolling down it caught my eye and thought it might be topical for this thread. hope that clears it up for you. now stop avoiding the fact you had been championing that very tournament and avoiding the realisation that the rugby bosses are treating it with disdain hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 22/02/2017 19:47:02 1959656 Link 0 |
How is it anti rugby that's just your way of avoiding some home truths fact is the irfu don't even care about women's six nations or they wouldn't be pulling their players out of the team and sending them to las vegas, because its pointed out don't make it anti rugby it makes it topical for this thread hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 22/02/2017 19:50:53 1959657 Link 1 |
