Two good games although they were ruined abit by very poor Referee's......................How we did not get rewarded with a penalty in the first half was a disgrace,that call kept Cork ahead and seen them over the line,our Marking and match up's were terrible and thats what cost us yesterday.

Mayo wont be as lose or as blind on the sideline so the should win.........but you know Mayo in All Ireland Finals!!

Went to the Dublin Vs Mayo game yesterday, best team won over the 60 mins, well done Mayo.

The ref was awful, for both sides, Dublin didn't do themselves any favours, can't recall Mayo scoring many from play despite a few well taken ones, also should have shepparded the game out. This Mayo group seemed bigger and stronger then the Dublin team, I wondered was there an age difference of an average year or two between the two teams. The game management of Dublin was very naive and I think the sheer physicality of Mayo won the game in the end.

Couple of good players for Mayo, O Connor obviously will make the seniors, the no 7 I thought as well should step up.

Huge positives for Dublin from this group I think, despite not being our strongest at this level in recent year: Con O Callaghan will go on to be one of the top players in the game at senior level, scarily another top forward for the seniors. Man marked by three yesterday and still scored a ridiculous amount of points, hopefully we might see him next week.

Apart from that I see Basquel, Foley, Clayton, Deegan Murchan contributing at Senior level, which is the basic point really, they just keep coming.

I always find it nice when other counties consider Croke Park Dublin home ground, it is in Dublin I suppose - all welcome for semi finals etc.

Well done to our neighbours Mayo and go on and win the AL now. We beat Cork in 2014 and Galway beat Cork in 2013 the current Cork team is very similar to those sides and its really a final Mayo should win.

Will you go easy. How often have we heard that before. It's a final, involving Mayo. If we play to our potential, get all the breaks, most of the refereeing decisions and Cork have an off day we are in with a chance. Otherwise........

We got to see the superb Dublin U-21 teams first hand in 2010,2012,2014 many of which went on to produce plenty of senior footballers. Quick question for the Dubs here, how would yesterday Dublin U-21 team compare to those 3 Dublin AL U21 winning teams and how many of yesterdays team will go on to play senior?

Last year really felt we would win it and I felt Dessie lost it on the line. We had some really top players . Some who still will breakthrough into the seniors.
This year wasn't expecting much, but after winning Leinster always felt we had a fighting chance. Very young team and most will be around next year.
Con o Callaghan is the only player who looks at the moment someone who will break into the seniors.
Basquel, Clayton , Murchan, maybe Aaron Byrne are good players and at the end of next year might be speaking of those lads for the seniors who knows.
Fentons name wasnt on the lips of many people prior to last year , so could be a few dark horses.

It was a complete overhaul of the minor team from three years ago with very few involved yesterday and there was 5or6 of yesterday's team doing their leaving very so very young side. Enjoyed both games yesterday and as I had recorded them I got a chance to watch them again today. Strange how we manage to view things differently when we watch them live. Must admit on the day I thought our game was 50/50 but thought Cork dominated theirs, probably because they led most of the way. After watching the games again with slo-mos etc I have to say that any of the four teams could have reached the final. Mayo showed great character once again and the young Dubs will rightly feel they had control and could have seen it out. Cork looked impressive going forward but the Monaghan lads had their chances. Sad to say once again that all 4 teams if they had lost could be pointing to the standard of refereeing. Is the modern game with all it's super fitness and speed now too much for one ref who must be knackered by half time ?

Both games were good and interesting to watch unlike for what goes for senior inter county fare with packed defences- Typical GAA fools to terminate the u21 grade. I though the defending by most teams not very good. Thought Mayo would have won by more only for their defence and same could be said about Monaghan. Some said how fast the Cork full forward line was. I though most of the defences lacked a bit of extra pace and were exposed when players ran straight down the middle and when teams passed the ball off the shoulder to someone in full flight. It appears if it is good and works, then we should get rid of it.

yew_tree 2017 will sadly be the final year of the U-21 football championship. Only the GAA would get rid of one of their most popular and exciting grades and then replace it with a grade where some of its best players probably won't play in or be allowed to play in and is moved into the middle of summer to already congested period where clubs across the country are trying to fit in a few championship games.

Why not play this final in Thurles before the hurling final on the Sunday...Yes Mayo might have to travel a bit further but I'm sure the players would rather play it in Thurles and with the extra support there....It might encourage a few more Cork people to go aswell...

It would be a good value double header aswell for likers of both codes I know Its one I would tip to!

Best of luck to Mayo in the final tomorrow. Should be a good game. Cork have big men and can move the ball fast and are good kickers (from the little I have seen of them). Hoping we can edge this one.
