Not pulling anyone's leg here but I asked around and think I've the name wrong. I'll try to find out over the weekend.

anfearbeag- I do not name players that I think are not good enough because I think it is unfair to individuals, most of whom will read forums -have no problem though with posters! as they obviously do not use real names. The half backline is one of the most important line on the field as most of the good attacks start there with players running directly at pace at the opposition and giving good ball to the likes of Biggy (the also need to be able to defend which some are not very good at and maybe there are no better but you will only find that out by giving other players game time). Some of the defenders you name over pass and hand pass backways and sideways putting no real pressure on the opposition -I think my point will show up in dry ground conditions as it did last year. All these players will do ok against the Armagh's and Fermanagh's of this world but against Dublin! you will be playing against guys with quick hands who have pace (you should always look to the best when setting up you team and never underestimate your strengths or weakness). How do you compliment the likes of Biggy if you have players beside him who are too slow to back him up on runs and who take that extra split second to pass. I could not understand why players were brought straight on to a team without a period of working their way back in. One example of that was young Wallace (who I think come summer and latter part of league may be in one of you best 3 forwards because of his pace). Time will tell on all these matters and I have seen all off the matches this year MOO.

Bit of a cop out Browncows to say that you think players on the panel aren't good enough, but you don't want to name them in case you hurt their feelings. Do you think they really give a monkeys what some anonymous internet user thinks about them?

Lets try a different approach then. Why not name 5-6 players who you think would be better than an un-named 5-6 players who are currently on the panel? Or are you going to continually hide behind the line of "I know that half a dozen players are not good enough, and I will be proved right in the summer, but I'm not going to tell you who they are, so I can't possible be wrong later in the year because I can pick out the worst 5-6 players and say they were the ones I was talking about".

We can all play that game. I know that one of the players named for Sunday is not on form and isn't going to have a good game. I'm not going to tell you who it is, but I guarantee I will be right. I will tell you who it was on Monday morning, and you will see that I was right.
See, it's easy!

anfearbeag- its quite obvious that you are the expert - have you by any chance played and won anything?- I suspect that if you had you would not be naming lineouts or teams! I do know by reading the many posts that the majority of posters are from clubs in the same area of the country and are guys who are continually pushing for their own club mates. Any way the best of luck to all on Sunday and I just hope nobody gets injured.

I know as much or as little as anyone else around here. The difference between us two Browncows, is that I don't come on here generally insulting people and letting on to know more than anyone else, and then running scared when anyone challenges what I say.
I have given my opinion as to who I would like to see play, or who I think is not up to it. Yet for some reason, you seem afraid to do the same- I suspect its because people will call you out on your BS.
This is a discussion board. People discuss teams, and line-outs and formations and players. That's the purpose of it. Its all about opinions.

This thing about a player or players who do to much hand passing and not able to kick pass correctly is interesting, they all kick pass reasonable well at club football because the intensity at club football level is very low...so when they go up the grade to county level intensity is higher so your closed down quicker and forced to make a mistake on turnover ball! So any new player we have now playing will have to take time to get up to the speed of the game,we are playing division 2 football intensity won't be the same as division 1..but that said we are playing Ulster team's who have higher intensity of playing football than the rest of the country, remember football is not about having your best 15 talented players on the pitch any more its about having your best working players who do the simple thing right, Maurice Fitzgerald would never get the chance to do what he does best playing the modern game because he would not have the time to pick out that killer pass..I think we can all agree we know that, but what's the point having biggy flanked by two fast player's who can't defend or work hard when we don't have the ball?
