how could you say cleaned out at midfield
we dominated it in the first 35 mnutes when the game was a contest
fenton and bastick were brilliant in the air
we made two changes at half time to give lads a run
bastick and kilkenny were two of our best performers and rested them
also rested connolly and cooper soon after half time.
buisness was conducted and was just going through the motions for last 20 minutes
couple stupid goals yeah but I rather they happened today when game was won
than in a tight game, 4 week break now till the semi final
so in my book exactly where we wanted to be

It could be a good thing that fermanagh scored as much as they did.We will surely knuckle down in training from here on , all traces of complacency will be gone.I still fancy our chances big time.

If I was a Dub, what would concern me most is their running game has fallen. What won them the All Ireland In 2013, undoubtably in my opinion was the running lines from MDMA and Cian O Sullivan. Also Bastick was capable of doing that aswell off the bench. For some reason, this running game has gone, MDMA is out of form big time and Cian O Sullivan is being used in a more defensive role

A load of nonsense if I may say

I was at CP and it was the first time I'd seen in the Champo and I was just blown away by the sheer and devastating power and athleticism on show. It's one thing seeing it on TV but even I didn't realise the force ye are until I saw it up close and personal all I can say is WOW. Dont let any poster say this game was in anyway competitive ye had 1-18 after about 37/38 mins and just went down to first gear after that. Also the 2 goals were complete freak occurrences so in reality it was a 14 point win which was more of a fair reflection on the game and had ye went full pelt for 70mins it would have been the usual routine 24 point victory.

Haven't seen anything yet to suggest we can win Sam this year. I would expect better performances against stiffer opposition but can't see us going all the way. Kerry's to loose now.

after today Kerry must be red hot favourites for Sam. I mean to score 7 goals in a quarter final?. And having to play an aging Tyrone team in the semis also. Is it time for GAA to consider splitting Kerry into 2 counties. They say this after every Dublin win!. Who can stop Kerry? Only a fully commited Dubs.

I agree with the second post. If we didnt concede the 2 goals it would of been another drumming. We are in the same boat as last year we have to wait until the semi's to see what this current Dublin team are made off. We are yet to peek and we played all games in 2nd gear. Lets hope the Coaches and players have timed everything correctly so we are at 100% for the 30th of August. I'm much happier now and looking forward to the semi's more than I did last year. As always Sam does not come easy and alot of work to do. You cannot say we dont have the talent or fire to do it. Up the Dubs :)

Health officials are warning of a sudden rise in the condition of 'CuteHoorism' across the Island. Funny enough Dublin in 2012 looked to be playing much better than in 2011 and they didn't win then. In 2013, I actually thought their form dipped and they went and won it. Likewise last year they blew everyone away and got caught in the semi's again. So to have a question mark hanging over them again might actually suit them. I agree they have looked sort of lackadaisical at times this year. I would still say they are the odds on favourites to win Sam but I would agree they will probably have to improve.

I'm not sure that many of the missing players would actually start. Mannion had been struggling a bit last year and Brennan has missed a lot of football. I'd certainly prefer McMenamin or Andrews to O'Gara. In relation to Paul Flynn, he's not shooting the lights out like the last 4 years and one or two passes are going astray on him but he's still working seriously hard. I would be happy enough with his contribution once the rest of the forwards are scoring. To be to him he's due a dip in form because over the last 4 years he's possibly been the most consistent player in the country.

Yeah Flynner is nowhere near his best... There's a few more to add to that list

In fairness to him... He had a serious injury which needed an operation

And as you said he's been one for pound one of the most consistent player at the highest level

But we're a bit weary... and that has been exposed by Div 3 teams at times

Unfortunately those faults will become more pronounced

It'll be a Mayo v Kerry final...

With Kerry putting back to back All Ireland's

I thought Mayo would do it

But unfortunately for them Kerry are playing this new defensive system brilliantly

They are tactically the best in left and then they have the talent to round it all off

Maybe Jimbo you are referring to the Minor Championship, because it's a fact that no Senior AI Champion in the last 6/7 years has even managed to get back to the final the next year due to the celebrations and functions etc

Allied to that is our poor record against Ulster teams in recent years when we had much stronger teams than the current one.

Kerry are without doubt the best positioned team out of all the recent champions to go onto win back to backs

Especially considering that Dublin have fallen back since 2013

If you don't win it this year it'll be a massive opportunity lost

I dont think Tyrone/Monaghan have enough in their armour to win the All Ireland.I give the other 4 counties an equal chance.Kerry have their old swagger back.Quite intimidating to play the Kingdom in HQ when their tails are up and chests out.However all three of Dublin/Donegal/Mayo have troubled them in recent years.Dublin have two massive wins against the aristocrats tucked safely away in the memory bank.The sheer fear we used to feel when playing Kerry is now replaced by total respect.All this waffle on here from all parties about whos name is on the cup & who cannot be beaten is pure nonsense.It will be all on the day.

Jimbo we were the 5th best out of the 6 teams left in the Champ and were a kick of a ball from being the lowest ranked and as many observers have correctly pointed out the 1st Division has better games than the early Prov ones. Also no manager since Billy Morgan has won back to back and that was all the way back in 1990.

As I said if you take out the 2 crazy freak goals you are talking about another dominating Blue Juggernaut (which of course it was anyway unless you believe in fairytales)

Jim,for the top 4 teams,theyve all done the required amount of training.I really do believe its on the day between them.Huge quality on all teams.Whoever performs to their optimum on the day will win.Luck,referee decisions,management tactical nous & substitutions and injuries etc will all play a part.Heart,hunger,desire,composure,craft,skill,guile,patience and a sprinkling of magical stardust will carry the day.Plenty of variables,but all of them have the means to do it.

In golden years of the 70's and 80's and to a lesser extent the 00's without being cocky, it's fair to say we had a certain aura about us, a fear factor if you will. Those days are well gone now, no decent side fears the Green + Gold anymore and now its Dublin who possess that now and it is very hard to acquire that status.
