what do people think of the ad for the club championship with player giving a speech to his team-mates kerryluck (Kerry) - Posts: 2517 - 16/03/2015 10:29:27 1703233 Link 0 |
I like it I must say. The man in question giving the speech is James Hickey of Mount Leinster Rangers before the 2014 All Ireland semi against Loughgiel Shamrocks in Newry. James played senior football and hurling for Carlow. fergie (Carlow) - Posts: 1119 - 16/03/2015 10:40:40 1703244 Link 0 |

Doubt it was staged. He gave a similar speech at half time in the All Ireland Intermediate final in 2012 which they went on to win. In Carlow he is well known for this kind of stuff. fergie (Carlow) - Posts: 1119 - 16/03/2015 11:11:48 1703267 Link 0 |
Good passionate rousing speech. Good ad. Daytona, it's hardly secretly filmed, AIB and GAA wouldn't use it if it was. I'd say though that a few good speeches were secretly recorded in dressing rooms. Davy Fitz's Hell for Leather, memorable/forgettable speech on that list. Definitely funny ! GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7934 - 16/03/2015 11:33:24 1703282 Link 0 |
It's a brilliant ad for what a GAA club can achieve. keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 16/03/2015 13:02:19 1703340 Link 0 |
Think its a little cringe and thought it was staged because of the content Ban (Westmeath) - Posts: 1468 - 16/03/2015 13:32:12 1703359 Link 0 |
Interestingly enough Rangers won that game but James done his cruciate and didn't get to play in all ireland final. He is from my club and is known for that kind of thing, think it's poor on AIB to not be playing an advert with this year's finalists in it. It was great last year and will live long in the memory down here. First carlow hurling team to play in an all ireland senior final. I dunno how so many people think that ad is cringeworthy. I think its an absolutely brilliant ad, you have to admire his passion. To say displaying such emotion is cringey is a shame in my opinion. decky (Roscommon) - Posts: 384 - 16/03/2015 15:30:19 1703443 Link 0 |
